Kentucky football came into the 2024 season with two bye weeks on the schedule. They went into the first bye week with momentum, having beaten a ranked Ole Miss team. Their second bye came this past weekend. In between, it was all bad, with the Wildcats going 0 – 4.
On Saturday, Kentucky looks to end the losing streak and keep their fading bowl game hopes alive against Murray State. The Racers are the third non-conference opponent for the Cats this year. Kentucky easily won the other two they’ve played so far.

Murray St is having a rough season as well. They enter Saturday’s game with only one win and nine losses. Their defense has had an especially troublesome year, as they currently rank dead last in the Football Championship Subdivision in scoring defense, giving up 45 points per game.
So, will Kentucky get the win? Here are the predictions from the UKWildcatsWire staff:

Despite the recent losing streak, Kentucky has all the advantages against Murray State. Even with some injuries, they’re the more talented team, and they should win the game. The question is whether or not they’ll look good doing it.
The Racers defense is bad, and though Kentucky has struggled on offense, they did score points in their non-conference games. This should be a nice game to gain some momentum for their game against the Texas Longhorns.

The Wildcats are having a down year, but they’re still miles past Murray State. Book a comfortable win for Kentucky.
