Auburn gymnastics has done it again.
The Tigers landed another commitment from an elite recruit, this time it is U.S. national team member [autotag]Katelyn Jong.[/autotag] She announced her commitment Wednesday night on her Instagram.
“I can’t believe it,” she wrote. “I am so excited to announce my verbal commitment to Auburn University on a full ride athletic scholarship!! So thankful for my family, friends, coaches, and everyone who help me get here! Can’t wait to be an Auburn Tiger! WAR EAGLE!”
Jong is a four-star recruit by College Gym News and is a member of the 2024 recruiting class.
The Allen, Texas native won the all-around gold at the junior women’s 2021 U.S. National Gymnastics Championships. She made her senior debut at the 2022 Winter Cup, where she finished fifth in the all-around.
Jong won gold for her floor routine at her World Challenge Cup debut earlier this month in Szombathely, Hungary. Her score of 13.5 was nearly half a point in front of the silver medalist.
She is Auburn’s second commit of the 2024 recruiting class, joining five-star prospect Olivia Ahern.
