Looking at Sunday’s Kansas City Chiefs at Houston Texans Week 15 NFL odds, lines and trends. Here’s what you need to know.

The Kansas City Chiefs (10-3) face the Houston Texans (1-11-1) at NRG Stadium Sunday in Week 15. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. ET (CBS). Below, we look at Chiefs vs. Texans odds from Tipico Sportsbook; check back for all our NFL picks and predictions.

The Chiefs are coming off a 34-28 win over the Denver Broncos Sunday in a game that was much closer than most expected. The Chiefs started off with a 27-0 lead but that quickly closed when QB Patrick Mahomes threw 2 INTs late in the 1st half. The Chiefs allowed 3-straight TD drives which allowed Denver back into the game, but Kansas City hung on.

The Chiefs failed to cover the spread as 8.5-point favorites against Denver. It was the 6th straight game that K.C. failed to cover (0-5-1 against the spread) — the Chiefs have managed to cover the spread only 3 times this season.

The Texans have lost 8 games in a row and have failed to cover the spread in 4 of their last 5 games. However, they covered Sunday as 17-point underdogs in a 27-23 loss at the Dallas Cowboys. Texans QBs Davis Mills and Jeff Driskel both saw work on offense and may end up in a QB rotation moving forward.

Chiefs vs. Texans head-to-head

The Chiefs lead the all-time series 8-5 against the Texans dating back to 2003. Kansas City is on a 2-game win streak against Houston but both of those games came in 2020 when QB Deshaun Watson was still at the helm for the Texans.

In January 2020, the Chiefs beat the Texans 51-31 and covered as 10-point favorites in the divisional round of the playoffs. After going down 24-0 in the 2nd quarter, the Chiefs went on a crazy 41-point run and ended up winning the Super Bowl the next month.

The other matchup between those two squads that year came during the next season in September 2020. The Chiefs won 34-20 and covered the spread as 9.5-point favorites.
