Texas A&M vs. Texas ticket prices are more expensive than upcoming Super Bowl LVIII rematch

The Lone Star Showdown will be one of the most expensive events of the year

No. 15 Texas A&M’s season finale matchup with the No. 1-ranked Texas Longhorns is more than a month away, but that doesn’t mean ticket prices for the biggest event of the college football season will go down anytime soon.

Both teams look like College Football Playoff contenders at the midseason mark. The Longhorns remain undefeated before facing Oklahoma in the annual Red River Rivalry on Saturday afternoon. Texas A&M’s five-game winning streak after blowing out Missouri 41-10 has the Aggies atop the SEC standings with a 3-0 conference record.

While the Longhorns’ remaining schedule looked easy on paper before the season started, facing Georgia at home and Vanderbilt on the road the week after looks much tougher.

Texas A&M’s three road games plus a home matchup vs. LSU could dictate the Aggie’s playoff hopes, and if any of those games results in a loss, facing Texas becomes a must-win.

Ahead of the game, Good Bull Hunting’s’ Robert Behrens first reported that through Seat Geek, ticket prices for Texas A&M vs. Texas are now higher than the upcoming Super Bowl LVIII rematch between Kansas City and the San Francisco 49ers, averaging anywhere between $759-$5,447 compared to $283-$1,171 for the NFL matchup.

For those with Texas A&M season tickets, enjoy the game! For everyone else, these prices make your couch look much better.

Texas A&M will face the Texas Longhorns in the first revival of the Lone Star Showdown on Saturday, Nov. 30.

Chiefs activate WR Mecole Hardman for Week 18 vs Raiders

Chiefs WR Mecole Hardman will return this week to face the Raiders

There’s still something to play for if you’re the Kansas City Chiefs. They want that number one seed and a bye in the first round of the playoffs. So, you can bet they will be giving it everything they have to beat the Raiders.

Helping them do that is the return of Mecole Hardman.

The Chiefs activated his this week, which means the speedster will play Saturday.

Hardman had been out since Week nine. They are hoping he can help them win this week so they don’t have to play next week while securing home field advantage throughout the playoffs.

They face a 6-10 Raiders team that was knocked out of playoff contention with a loss to the 49ers last week.

The Raiders put up a good fight with new quarterback Jarrett Stidham at the helm. Making his first start, the career backup threw for 365 yard and three touchdowns to help the Raiders put up 34 points on the league’s top defense. The 49ers still pulled out the 37-34 win in overtime.

It will likely take a similar effort from the Raiders offense to match what the Chiefs and their top rated offense are able to score. Especially with Hardman back in the lineup.

Report: Panthers request interview with Chiefs OC Eric Bieniemy

Report: Panthers request interview with Chiefs OC Eric Bieniemy

With the season over, the Panthers’ search for their next head coach is heating up. According to a report by Ian Rapoport at NFL Network, the team has requested an interview with Chiefs offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy.

David Tepper has stated publicly that he wants an offensive-minded candidate and seems to prefer those with pro experience. Bieniemy fits that description.

If you’re unfamiliar with Bieniemy’s background, he played running back for the Chargers and the Bengals in the 1990s. He is now 50 years old. Bieniemy’s first coaching job in the league was as the Vikings’ running backs coach. He held that position five seasons before becoming the offensive coordinator for Colorado. In 2013, the Chiefs hired him to be their running backs coach and he was promoted last year to offensive coordinator.

Andy Reid and Patrick Mahomes deserve a fair share of the credit, but Kansas City’s offense has been spectacular these last two seasons with Bieniemy calling the shots. They rank sixth in total yards and fifth in points per game this season after leading the NFL in scoring by a wide margin last year.

The Chiefs finished the regular season 12-4, earning themselves the AFC’s No. 2 seed. That gives them a first-round bye in the playoffs, which will allow Bieniemy time to interview this week.

Other candidates the team has been linked with include former Packers coach Mike McCarthy, who has met with the team twice. Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels and Baylor coach Matt Rhule are also reported to be on the team’s list.

In related news, it sounds like former Carolina head coach Ron Rivera might land his next job very soon. He’s reported to be meeting with the Redskins today.
