Linebacker Kaelin Burnett may have only played in five games for the Tennessee Titans, but he’s getting a second chance at football in the city where the franchise originally started in Houston, Texas.
Burnett was originally signed by the Titans in 2014, quietly recording three tackles over his five appearances.
Burnett and the Roughnecks made their XFL debut on Saturday, recording a 37-17 victory over the visiting Los Angeles Wildcats to start the season off 1-0.
Burnett was an impact player for the Roughnecks, recording an interception off of Wildcats quarterback Charles Kanoff at the top of the second quarter.

Burnett finished the game with four tackles, one quarterback hurry, a pass defensed and a takeaway.
The Roughnecks undoubtedly won the turnover battle, as the Wildcats coughed up the ball four times before the contest was over.
Burnett and the Roughnecks will aim to stay undefeated as the St. Louis Battlehawks, led by former Ole Miss Rebels quarterback Jordan Ta’amu, travel to TDECU Stadium on Sunday.
Kickoff between the two teams is set for 5 p.m. CST.
