Cardinals injury report: Christian Kirk upgraded to limited

Check out the second injury report of Week 16.

The Arizona Cardinals released their second injury report of the week. They saw improvement with almost everybody who appeared on the list. After seven players sat out of Wednesday’s practice, only one did on Thursday.

Did not practice

  • OL Justin Pugh (back)

Pugh’s back kept him out of two practices last week and then he was limited on Friday. He started and played on Sunday, coming out for only a few snaps to give Mason Cole some work. If he is limited on Friday, he will likely play again this weekend against the Seattle Seahawks.

Limited

  • LB Jordan Hicks (calf)
  • WR Christian Kirk (ankle)
  • DL Caraun Reid (knee)

Both Hicks and Kirk were upgraded after missing Wednesday, suggesting they could be on track to play on Sunday.

Reid was limited for the second day in a row.

Four veterans who had the day off on Wednesday were back as full participants on Thursday. Linebacker Joe Walker (ribs) practiced fully after he was limited on Wednesday.

Cardinals inactives: Andy Isabella, Justin Pugh set to play

Check out who will not dress for the Cardinals against the Browns.

The Arizona Cardinals released their list of inactive players for their Week 15 contest against the Cleveland Browns. This week, they only have six inactive players. After releasing linebacker Terrell Suggs on Friday, they did not add any players to the roster, so they entered Sunday with only 52 players on the 53-man roster.

As coach Kliff Kingsbury expected, all the players listed as questionable for the game are good to go and will dress, including guard Justin Pugh and receiver Andy Isabella.

Here are the six players who will sit for Arizona:

  • WR KeeSean Johnson
  • CB Jalen Davis
  • S Deionte Thompson
  • OL Lamont Gaillard
  • OL Joshua Miles
  • TE Darrell Daniels

Johnson is a healthy scratch for the third straight week. With Daniels being inactive, it means that recently acquired tight end Dan Arnold could get his first look with the team.

Thompson is inactive for the second straight week.

What remains to be seen is whether Pugh will start or whether Mason Cole will start at left guard. Pugh did not practice Wednesday or Thursday with a back injury and was limited on Friday.

Cardinals injury report: Mason Cole, Budda Baker, Byron Murphy upgraded

Check out the second injury report of the week for the Cardinals.

The Arizona Cardinals released their second injury report of the week on Thursday and things got a little better. Four players were upgraded in the practice designation, but two new injuries popped up.

Did not practice

  • OL Justin Pugh (back)
  • LB Terrell Suggs (back, illness)

Pugh’s back is something to watch. The season before signing with the Cardinals, he had back issues. Suggs has practiced little this season, so he will still likely play.

Limited

  • S Budda Baker (hamstring)
  • OL Maon Cole (knee)
  • OL J.R.Sweezy (illness)
  • WR Andy Isabella (shoulder)
  • WR Christian Kirk (ankle)
  • CB Kevin Peterson (shoulder)
  • LB Joe Walker (ribs)
  • TE Maxx Williams (knee)

Baker, Cole and Sweezy were all able to practice some after sitting out Wednesday, which suggests they are progressing toward hopefully playing on Sunday. Williams’ injury is new.

Cornerback Byron Murphy (calf) was a full participant on Thursday after being limited Wednesday. Tight end Darrell Daniels (chest) appeared for the first time on the injury report but he practiced fully.
