Colts’ Julién Davenport starting at RT with Braden Smith out

Julién Davenport gets the start at RT with Braden Smith inactive.

Indianapolis Colts offensive lineman Julién Davenport is expected to get the start at right tackle on Sunday for the Week 2 matchup against the Los Angeles Rams with starter Braden Smith inactive.

Smith is inactive for the game due to a foot injury he suffered in the season opener. Davenport will move from left to right tackle now that starter Eric Fisher is active and expected to make his Colts debut.

Davenport filled in at left tackle for Fisher while he worked his way back from a torn Achilles. In the opener, Pro Football Focus credited Davenport with six total pressures allowed, including two sacks.

It isn’t clear how long Smith will be out for the Colts with his foot injury, but the team wasn’t having any discussions about putting him on the injured reserve list this week.

Stock up, stock down from Colts’ 28-16 loss to Seahawks

The stock report from the Colts’ loss in Week 1 to the Seahawks.

The Indianapolis Colts (0-1) found themselves on the wrong end of a paltry 28-16 loss against the Seattle Seahawks (1-0) on Sunday at Lucas Oil Stadium.

This certainly wasn’t the way the Colts wanted to open the season. It was a poor outing on both sides of the ball in which Indy looked outmatched and outcoached by a Seahawks team that proved to be better in many aspects of the game.

The stock report is fluid. It can change week-to-week based on a player’s performance so it’s best to not get too high or too low. Regardless, there were players who helped their stock on Sunday while others saw their stock fall.

Here is the stock report from the Colts’ Week 1 loss against the Seahawks:

The Indianapolis Colts started the season off on the wrong foot yet again after a struggle to keep up with the visiting Seattle Seahawks, losing by a final score of 28-16.

This opening weekend loss marks the eighth such year in a row for Indianapolis, a type of record no team ever wants to be attached to its franchise. This game was decided by the simple fact of which team executed the fundamentals better and made the big plays when the opportunities arose.

The Seahawks did just that, while Indianapolis just came up short in many areas being outplayed and out-coached all afternoon.

Here we’ll take a look at a couple of the more positive individual performances, or studs, as well as the not-so-positive duds from this Week 1 loss.
