Browns Inactives: All-Pro guard Joel Bitonio officially active vs. Texans

Joel Bitonio will officially give it a go against the Texans

As the Cleveland Browns get set to take on the Houston Texans in search of their tenth win of the season, they get some good news. As they released their inactives list of all of the players who will not dress for this game, offensive guard Joel Bitonio was not on it. The All-Pro will play in this game. Coming into the gameday, we knew safety Juan Thornhill, among other starters would be out as they are officially listed as inactive.

The Browns cannot officially clinch a playoff spot today after both the Pittsburgh Steelers and Buffalo Bills found ways to in on Saturday. However, with a win over the Texans today, the Browns will find themselves in a position to potentially clinch at home on Thursday night against the New York Jets.

Without looking ahead, however, here is the full list of inactives who will not dress as Joe Flacco and Case Keenum get set in this battle of the backups.

Browns Injury Report: Joel Bitonio questionable, Juan Thornhill and Ogbo Okoronkwo out again vs. Texans

Here is Cleveland’s final injury report as they get set to take on the Texans

The Cleveland Browns have been beat up all season by injuries, but they are meeting their match this week against the Houston Texans. Nonetheless, however, the Browns will once again be without starting free safety Juan Thornhill, while offensive guard Joel Bitonio is questionable after leaving last week’s game with a back injury.

Also dealing with a great deal of injuries, the Texans will be without both of their top-five picks in quarterback C.J. Stroud and edge defender Will Anderson Jr. Former Browns” backup quarterback Case Keenum will start for Houston for the second straight week. Jim Schwartz and his unit must take advantage of this.

Who else is dealing with injuries that have put their status against the Texans in jeopardy? With less than 48 hours until kickoff, here is the Browns’ final injury report as they get set to travel to Houston in search of win no. 10 on the road.

Browns Injury Report: Joel Bitonio, Juan Thornhill still out with Texans approaching

The Browns are still without some starters in practice, including Joel Bitonio and Juan Thornhill, as they get set to take on the Texans

We are now just two days from the Week 16 matchup between the Cleveland Browns and the Houston Texans. The Browns will look to all but solidify their playoff slot with a win in Houston, who will be without their second and third overall picks. While the Texans will be starting quarterback Case Keenum, the Browns are still without a few starters, including guard Joel Bitonio and safety Juan Thornhill, in practice.

While there is still one opportunity to practice this week still, Thornhill has now missed two games in a row, trending toward his third. Bitonio left during the win against the Chicago Bears, hurting his back in the first quarter a week ago. He is hopeful to play against the Texans.

They are not the only players who either missed practice on Thursday for the Browns or were limited as they prepare for the Texans. Here is the full injury report as Cleveland gets set to travel to Houston.

Browns Injury Report: Ethan Pocic returns to practice, Juan Thornhill still out with Texans next

The Browns got their starting center and linebacker back to practice on Wednesday.

For once, the Cleveland Browns have met a team as banged up as they are. While the Browns got some starters back to practice in center Ethan Pocic and linebacker Anthony Walker Jr., they still miss safety Juan Thornhill. The silver lining? The Houston Texans have a significantly long injury report as well.

It has already been broken that quarterback C.J. Stroud is still dealing with concussion symptoms and is highly unlikely to play in this Week 16 matchup against the Browns. However, their other top-five pick, Will Anderson Jr., is also still out of practice after missing their last game.

For the Browns, they technically did not practice. Instead, they had a walk-through on Wednesday. They still have to report their Wednesday injury report as if they were going to practice, however. Here is every player that appeared as if they did not practice, or as limited in practice from Wednesday’s walk-through.

Browns Inactives: Denzel Ward returns, Anthony Walker Jr. OUT vs. Bears

Now 90 minutes from gametime, the Browns have released their inactives against the Bears as Denzel Ward will make his return

Welcome to Week 15 as the Cleveland Browns host the Chicago Bears on a messy, rainy afternoon. It might be gloomy outside, but the Browns get some good news as Pro Bowl cornerback Denzel Ward is set to return to the lineup after missing the last three games with a shoulder injury. Linebacker Anthony Walker Jr., who was listed as questionable, will not play, however.

For a team as beat up as the Browns, placing four significant contributors on Injured Reserve this week alone, getting Ward on the field as Justin Fields and the Bears come to Cleveland Browns Stadium is a massive boost for the defense.

Given those injuries, we will also see the Cleveland Browns’ debut of rookie defensive tackle Siaki Ika, who has been inactive every game this season. Fourth round defensive end Isaiah McGuire will see his second bout of action as well.

With these two rookies off the bench, who is inactive for the Browns today? Here is the list of players who will not dress against the Bears as Cleveland looks to continue to hold their wildcard slot even tighter.

Browns Injury Report: Handful of starters still missing from practice as Bears near

The Browns are hosting the Bears in just three straight days, but they still have key players like Ethan Pocic and Juan Thornhill absent

The injury list for the Cleveland Browns gets longer by the list. Already sitting with 16 players who have missed significant time this year as the Chicago Bears come to town, they still have a handful of starters who have not practiced this week with two days until gametime as they look to continue to increase their playoff odds. That list includes starting center Ethan Pocic and safety Juan Thornhill.

Thornhill, who was signed to a three-year deal this offseason, has battled a calf injury all season that has caused him to miss three games this season. Pocic suffered a stinger in Sunday’s win over the Jacksonville Jaguars, but the Browns are still hoping for his return this week. Friday’s practice status will tell us much more about both of these players.

If Thornhill cannot go, the Browns will be scraping the bottom of the barrel at safety as Grant Delpit and Rodney McLeod are both already on Injured Reserve. Undrafted rookie Ronnie Hickman got the start a week ago. With Delpit out, he will start again. If Thornhill cannot go, expect veteran Duron Harmon to start with Hickman fresh off of the practice squad.

In addition to Pocic and Thornhill, here is every player who either missed practice on Thursday or was limited as the Bears quickly approach.

Browns Injury Report: Ethan Pocic, Juan Thornhill among 11 starters not practicing

The Browns need to get as healthy as possible, and fast.

As the Cleveland Browns prepare to take on the Chicago Bears, they are far from healthy as this season has taken its toll on the lineup. With 16 significant contributors who have missed multiple games this season, the Browns were without center Ethan Pocic, safety Juan Thornhill, and nine other starters during Wednesday’s practice.

While a handful of those players sat out with scheduled rest, the Browns are facing an uphill battle the rest of the way out due to the attrition that has struck their roster this season. However, still sitting at 8-5, can head coach Kevin Stefanski muster out two or three more wins down the stretch to lock themselves into a playoff spot?

The first task toward that goal is taking down Justin Fields and the Bears, who will come to Cleveland Browns Stadium on Sunday. Needing to get healthy first, however, here are all of the players who either missed practice or were limited due to an injury on Wednesday.

Browns S Juan Thornhill a game-time scratch, Ronnie Hickman will start vs. Jaguars

The Browns have scratched safety Juan Thornhill at game-time. Undrafted rookie Ronnie Hickman will start against the Jaguars

Just as the game between the Cleveland Browns and Jacksonville Jaguars get set for kickoff, safety Juan Thornhill has been scratched from the game with a calf injury. Thornhill entered the game with a questionable game designation with an injury that has plagued him all season. Undrafted rookie safety Ronnie Hickman will start in his place.

This is the second member of the Cleveland secondary to be ruled out in this game as cornerback Denzel Ward will also miss his third straight game as well. Veteran safety Rodney McLeod has also been ruled out for the season with a bicep injury.

With insurmountable injuries on both sidelines, the Browns and Jaguars are both limping to the finish line in this game. Can the Browns continue to fight through these injuries and find their way to their eighth win on the season?

If they do, they will hold a firm grasp on a playoff spot.

Browns Inactives: Juan Thornhill in, Anthony Walker Jr. out vs. Broncos

The Browns have announced their inactives as Juan Thornhill will play. Anthony Walker Jr. is out against the Broncos

Coming into this Week 12 matchup against the Denver Broncos, the Cleveland Browns saw two starters with questionable designations. Safety Juan Thornhill and linebacker Anthony Walker Jr. were not 100 percent to give it a go this week in practice. However, as the Browns release their inactives list, Thornhill will play in the Mile High City, while Walker Jr. will miss this matchup against the 5-5 Broncos.

Look for Sione Takitaki to start at MIKE linebacker in Walker Jr.’s absence, with Tony Fields II taking over as SAM (Takitaki’s usual post). The Browns did get linebacker Jordan Kunaszyk back from Injured Reserve this week as well to soften the blow of Walker Jr.’s nagging hamstring. To help fill the void of their missing defensive backs, the Browns also brought up two young guns from the practice squad.

Here is the full list of inactives as the Browns look to make it four straight, taking on the Broncos on the road.

Browns Injury Report: Juan Thornhill, many other return to practice as Broncos near

The Browns are looking for their fourth straight as they take on the Denver Broncos. Getting a boost, Juan Thornhill returns to practice.

Still without cornerback Denzel Ward as they prepare for the red-hot Denver Broncos, the Cleveland Browns did get a boost back in their elite secondary. While Ward likely misses the game, and while safety Rodney McLeod suffered a season-ending injury, the Browns got safety Juan Thornhill back to practice on Thanksgiving day.

Their list of players who did not practice was quite extensive on Wednesday, but the Browns got the majority of those players back on the field on Thursday. Rookie Dorian Thompson-Robinson will start again in this game, even after adding veteran and Super Bowl-winning quarterback Joe Flacco to the roster.

Can head coach Kevin Stefanski pull out another win, making it six of his last seven games? It will not be an easy game in Denver, but the Browns will once again look to get the job done.

As the Browns prepare to travel to Denver, here is the full list of players who either did not practice on Thursday or were limited in practice.
