Three Tennessee student-athletes earn SEC weekly honors after winning at Oklahoma.

No. 6 Tennessee (4-0, 1-0 SEC) enters its first open date during the 2024 regular-season.

Tennessee defeated Oklahoma (3-1, 0-1 SEC), 25-15, last week before its open date. Three Vols earned honors from the Southeastern Conference after a top 15 win against the Sooners.

Redshirt freshman kicker Max Gilbert was named SEC Special Teams Player of the Week, junior defensive lineman Joshua Josephs earned SEC Co-Defensive Lineman of the Week honors and redshirt freshman quarterback Nico Iamaleava was named SEC Freshman of the Week.

Tennessee practiced for the third time during fall training camp on Friday at Haslam Field in preparation for the upcoming season.

Friday’s practice was the first in shells for Tennessee during fall training camp.

The Vols will kick off its season in 29 days on Sept. 2 versus Virginia at Nissan Stadium in Nashville, Tennessee. Kickoff between Tennessee and the Cavaliers is slated for noon EDT and will be televised by ABC.

The 2022 signing period is the first full class under head coach Josh Heupel.

The Vols were 7-5 (4-4 SEC) in 2021 under Heupel. Tennessee will play in the TransPerfect Music City Bowl against Purdue on Dec. 30 (3 p.m. EST, ESPN).

First-year head coach Josh Heupel and his Tennessee staff continue to recruit future Vols.

2022 prospect Joshua Josephs committed to Tennessee on Monday.

The 6-foot-3, 215-pound edge rusher is from North Cobb High School in Kennesaw, Georgia.

The Vols offered Jospehs on March 10. He unofficially visited Tennessee on June 5 and June 27. The 2022 prospect officially visited UT on Oct. 9.

The football early signing period takes place Dec. 15-17 for the 2022 recruiting class.

Auburn offers 3-star linebacker

Auburn is making a move on a Georgia linebacker.

Auburn is pursuing 3-star linebacker Joshua Josephs after offering him on Sunday.

The Kennesaw, Georgia native took announced via his Twitter page that Bryan Harsin’s staff had offered the 2022 linebacker.

Josephs, the 6-foot-3, 215-pound linebacker, is being recruited hard by multiple schools including Michigan, Penn State, Kentucky, and Tennesee. Auburn is the latest school to get in on the battle for his services.

Josephs visited Auburn and participated in a camp on their campus on June 7th. The Auburn coaching staff clearly liked what they saw from the linebacker after deciding to offer him this weekend.

On his 247Sports page, it says that he was selected as a Marietta Daily Journal/Cobb County All-County first-team selection on defense.
