The Washington Football Team continued their busy offseason on Wednesday, signing veteran linebacker Joe Walker.
To make room for Walker, Washington released linebacker Josh Harvey-Clemons.
Harvey-Clemons was a seventh-round draft pick by Washington back in 2017. In the first three years of his career, Harvey-Clemons appeared in 35 games for Washington, making 40 tackles, including 1.5 for loss.
Harvey-Clemons opted out of the 2020 season due to COVID-19.
Walker entered the NFL back in 2016 as a seventh-round pick by the Philadelphia Eagles. He played collegiately at Oregon.
Walker spent the first two years of his career with the Eagles before he was released in Sept. 2018. Philadelphia immediately signed Walker to its practice squad before he was signed to Arizona’s 53-man roster later that month.
Walker appeared in 14 games for the Cardinals in 2018. In 2019, he appeared in all 16 games, making 11 starts for Arizona. Walker recorded 65 tackles, including five for loss in 2019. He spent the 2020 season with the San Francisco 49ers.

Washington continues to make moves to improve the depth on the defensive side of the ball. In the past week, Washington has added defensive backs Bobby McCain and Chris Miller, and now Walker.
Walker’s biggest contribution will likely be on special teams if he makes the roster.
