Notre Dame football received great news on Saturday morning as All-American safety Brandon Joseph announced he’d be transferring to the Irish from Northwestern.
Freeman finished the 2021 season three interceptions and 80 tackles for the Wildcats and was an All-American the year before when he posted some absurd stats for playing in just nine games: six interceptions, 52 tackles, and eight pass break ups.
Because of the COVID year the NCAA granted each player in 2020 an extra year of eligibility. As a result Joseph will have three years of eligibility at Notre Dame despite having already played two years.
This is a massive get for Marcus Freeman and company as they are now able to replace the best safety in the nation (Kyle Hamilton) with another elite safety (Joseph).
