Jordan Howard is entering Sunday questionable to play against Washington with a neck injury, but according to Adam Schefter, the talented running back will play.

With Miles Sanders out for Sunday with a broken hand suffered last week against the Giants, Howard’s availability was even more important after suffering a neck injury against the Giants.

Philadelphia will have Boston Scott and rookie running back Kenneth Gainwell active, and former Lions running back Kerryon Johnson was signed to the practice squad.

The Eagles lead the NFL with 163 rushing yards per game and Howard is second on the team with 380 yards and a 5.1 average.

Doug Pederson doesn’t sound optimistic about Jordan Howard, Nelson Agholor playing vs. Redskins

Jordan Howard, Nelson Agholor not expected to play vs. the Redskins

The Eagles practiced without Nelson Agholor, Lane Johnson and Derek Barnett again on Friday, and it’s unknown if any of the three will play on Sunday.

When specifically asked about his veteran wide receiver, Doug Pederson sounded pessimistic that he’d play against the Redskins per Zach Berman of The Athletic.
“We’re kind of getting down there to the end, obviously. …I think my hope is that they return, and return soon so that we can get them back. I lean more that way…than trying to free up a spot.”

Agholor, now the Eagles’ top receiver, was held out of practice for the third straight day this week and the team promoted practice squad wide receiver Robert Davis to the 53-man roster for added depth after Alshon Jeffery was placed on injured reserve.

Running Back Jordan Howard (shoulder), cornerback Jalen Mills (elbow) and linebacker Kamu Grugier-Hill (concussion) were all at practice.

The Philadelphia Eagles have been without running back Jordan Howard for two games now and it’s starting to look like his “stinger” could be even more serious than team officials thought.

During his Monday morning press conference, Doug Pederson indicated that Howard is working to regain strength in his injured shoulder.

Howard has still not been cleared for contact and he’s unlikely to play until that happens. Miles Sanders carried the load for the Eagles on Sunday, but Howard’s bruising, physical style has definitely been missed.

Eagles RB Jordan Howard not cleared for contact, could miss game vs. Seahawks with shoulder injury

Jordan Howard has not been cleared for contact and might sit out for a second straight week.

The Philadelphia Eagles could be without Jordan Howard on Sunday as the running back works his back from a neck/shoulder nerve injury — known as a stinger — suffered in the win over the Bears in Week 9. Howard has yet to be cleared for contact, and his status for Sunday is in jeopardy.

Miles Sanders and Boston Scott handled the backfield duties with Howard out last week against the New England Patriots. Jay Ajayi, who signed with the Eagles last week and did not play against the Patriots, could have a role against Seattle.
