Former Kentucky tight end Jordan Dingle set to choose South Carolina

Former Kentucky tight end Jordan Dingle is expected to transfer to South Carolina.

Kentucky football lost a number of good players to the transfer portal, including several from the offense. One of them was tight end Jordan Dingle. Now, like receiver Barion Brown, it appears that he has found a new home.

According to Matt Zenitz of 247sports, Dingle will join South Carolina for the 2025 season. The move would enable him to face the Wildcats next season when the two teams meet in September.

Dingle spent four years in Lexington, but never really became a big part of the offense. The 2022 season was his best, and he had 20 receptions for 220 yards and 3 touchdowns. Last year, he recorded 9 catches for 71 yards and 1 score in a down season for the offense.

As a former four-star recruit, Dingle certainly still has the potential to be a very good player. The Gamecocks are hoping to get the most out of his talent. Good luck to him in 2025.

Kentucky tight end Jordan Dingle announces he will enter the transfer portal

Kentucky football will lose a second tight end to the transfer portal this year.

The 2024 Kentucky football season was a difficult and disappointing one in nearly every way. Now, that’s perhaps partly responsible for the exodus of several players via the transfer portal, including Dane Key and Barion Brown. Tight end Jordan Dingle is now on that list as well.

This season, the offense was abysmal, and led to the Wildcats’ worst record since 2013. Production was down across the board, and that includes the tight ends like Dingle.

Dingle came to Kentucky as a three-star prospect and a top 500 player in his class. As a Freshman, he showed great promise with 20 catches for 220 yards and 3 touchdowns. Since then, though, his production has dropped, and this season, he only had 9 receptions for 71 yards and a score.

Dingle joins Khamari Anderson as tight ends transferring from Kentucky this offseason. He’s the fifth pass catcher, joining three receivers in the portal.

This is shaping up to be one of the most interesting offseasons in recent Wildcats history. Fans will want to stay tuned for further news of the comings and goings in Lexington.

The Kentucky football season is Jordan Dingle (85) days away

Tight end Jordan Dingle wears number 85 for Kentucky football and could start this season.

If Kentucky football is going to overcome tremendous odds and make a run to the top of the SEC, they’ll need a big season from quarterback Brock Vandagriff. The Cats new passer has some good weapons to work with, including a pair of terrific wide receivers. They also have a tight end group with potential, including Jordan Dingle.

This is the next in a series of articles getting to know the 2024 Kentucky football team. We’ll count down the days until the season starts and look at the players who wear the number that matches the number of days left. Number 85 is tight end Jordan Dingle.

Dingle was a member of the 2021 recruiting class, and 247sports had him rated three stars. He was their number 33 tight end in the class.

In his first year of play, he caught 20 passes for 220 yards and was named to the Freshman All-SEC team. Last year, he caught fewer passes, but he averaged 22.5 yards per catch.

Dingle will certainly be one of the main tight ends in 2024, and should be a terrific safety valve for Vandagriff. He’s a talented player, and fans should expect to see a lot of him.

Taking an early look at the Kentucky football 2024 roster: Tight end

Kentucky will try to find the right rotation from what they have at tight end

The best friend of a new quarterback is a good tight end. The Kentucky Wildcats will feature a new starting quarterback in 2024, and they’ll hope one of the tight ends steps up and develops into a star for the team.

The Wildcats don’t have a returning tight end who had big numbers in 2023, but they do bring back some experience. They have a solid mix of veterans and newcomers on the roster.

Jordan Dingle is the favorite to take on the lead role at tight end. The 6’4″, 238 lb Junior had 12 catches for 270 yards last season. He’ll get the first shot at the starting job.

Khamari Anderson is a talented Sophomore out of Detroit. The former four star recruit hasn’t played a lot, but could command much more playing time in 2024.

Another returning player with some experience is Josh Kattus. His blocking ability will get him onto the field

Tanner Lemaster and Jack Monday will also try to get into the tight end rotation.

There is plenty of experience and talent at tight end for Kentucky, but not a lot of past production. Like the rest of the Wildcats offense, there are lots of unknowns to figure out before the season begins.

Penn’s high scoring guard Jordan Dingle enters transfer portal

One of the Ivy League’s best players has entered the transfer portal

One of the country’s top scorers from this past season, University of Pennsylvania guard Jordan Dingle has entered the transfer portal, he told ESPN on Friday morning.

The 6-foot-3 guard out of Blair Academy in New Jersey averaged 23.4 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 2.23 assist for the Quakers this past season over 28 games. For his career, he’s averaged 19.5 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 2.3 assists per game over 79 total games and 72 starts. His fantastic 2022-23 season was a follow-up to an almost nearly as good 2021-2022 season that saw him post 20.9 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 2.4 assists per game.

This past season, his 23.4 points per game was second in the nation only behind Detroit Mercy’s Antoine Davis who averaged 28.2 points per game. Overall, he was only one of 26 players in the entire country to average 20+ points a night.

Notably, Dingle is a volume shooter, he averaged nearly 17 shots per game this past season but was rather efficient in doing so with a 46.4% shooting percentage and an effective field goal percentage of 54.6%.

During his three years with Penn, Dingle was a two-time All-Ivy League selection and two-time All-Ivy League tournament selection as well as being named the 2019-20 Ivy League Rookie of the Year and the 2022-2023 Ivy League MVP.

Now in the transfer portal, Dingle is expected to become one of the more highly sought players in the transfer portal.
