The 6-foot-3, 280-pound Slack is from Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. High School in Detroit, Michigan.

Tennessee offered Slack on May 3, 2021. He unofficially visited Tennessee on June 9, 2021.

Slack has Power Five offers from Michigan State, Tennessee, Arizona State, Boston College, Kentucky, Miami, Missouri, Ole Miss, Oregon, Syracuse and West Virginia.

In-state 4-star offensive lineman commits to Michigan State football

Michigan State has added a top in-state player to its 2023 recruiting class

Michigan State’s coaching staff has earned another commitment for its 2023 class, and the first offensive lineman of the class. Detroit native Johnathan Slack has announced that he has made the move to commit to Michigan State.

Slack is a 6-foot-3, 280-pound offensive lineman who projects to be a center at the next level. According to ESPN’s recruiting rankings, Slack ranks as a 4-star prospect and the No. 281 overall player in the recruiting class.

Slack is a native of Detroit and attends King High School in the city. He will join 4-star TE Brennan Parachek and 4-star RB Kedrick Reescano as members of the Spartans 2023 recruiting class.

Michigan State Football recruiting efforts are not just focused on this year or next year only. Instead, Mel Tucker and staff are already making early offers to 2023 recruits. This time, 2023 OT Jonathan Slack Jr. out of Detroit, MI, announced he has received an offer from the Spartans. This is the tenth 2023 recruiting class offer from Michigan State.

Slack stands at 6’3″ and weighs 245 pounds. He currently plays for Martin Luther King High School. Other teams also put forth early offers to Slack. As of right now, he has offers from Kentucky, Memphis, Ole Miss, and Southern Miss.
