Jimmy Kimmel got back at Aaron Rodgers for those awful, baseless accusations.
Jimmy Kimmel didn’t waste a single second on Monday night.
In his return to the air on Jimmy Kimmel Live! the late-night host kicked off his monologue right away by talking about New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers, who made baseless claims about Kimmel potentially being on the Jeffrey Epstein list. Rodgers did that on Pat McAfee’s ESPN show and promised that he’d address it again on Tuesday.
But Kimmel got in the next word. He broke down how we got here, looking back at how making fun of Rodgers which “so badly bruised his Thanksgiving Parade-sized ego.” Then, he spoke about how Rodgers believes he’s smarter than everyone else and it was off to the roasting of the quarterback, a full seven minutes devoted to ripping the QB:
Kimmel is spot on here. The accusations are not OK, not “trash talk,” not anything, and we’ll see if Rodgers decides to apologize on Tuesday after doing some damage with his words.
Zaila Avant-garde has wowed the world with her spelling and basketball skills in the past few weeks, so of course when she appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live with Phoebe Robinson this week, she ended up combining the two: doing some unreal dribbling drills while spelling tough words.
Naturally, she knocked it out of the park. But then there was another amazing thing: after she shouted out Bill Murray in her Spelling Bee-winning moment to spell Murraya (see below), the actor/comedian showed up virtually to test her.
This whole thing is just delightful, especially when she balances on a foam roller, dribbles and spells “portmanteau” correctly.
Boston Celtics fan favorite centers Tacko Fall and Enes Kanter share the Disney bubble’s secrets with several NBA peers on a recent “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” show.
Whether the Miami Heat win or lose their Game 6 meeting with the Los Angeles Lakers in the 2020 NBA Finals this evening, the “cone of silence” the NBA’s restart at the Disney Wide World of Sports campus at Lake Buena Vista, Florida imposed upon the goings-on will have kept the prying eyes of the media away from unsavory details.
Boston Celtics big men Tacko Fall and Enes Kanter joined several of their peers in showing us what really went on inside the NBA’s bubble campus in a recent segment on the popular late-night television show “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” called “Tales from the NBA Bubble”.
In an entirely (and hopefully obviously) satirical account, Kanter revealed that he’s married a vacuum cleaner, while Fall developed a disturbing addiction to pay-per-view… well, we’ll let you learn for yourself about his shocking viewing habits.
Watch the clip embedded above to hear what Boston’s beloved bigs were up to in the Disney restart bubble.
But the 26-year-old NASCAR driver expanded on that response in an interview Tuesday night, saying the president should be focused on other issues right now.
In the disparaging tweet with multiple lies and nonsensical claims, Trump asked if Wallace had apologized after a noose was found on June 21 in the Talladega Superspeedway garage stall belonging to him and the No. 43 Richard Petty Motorsports team.
The president also called it a “HOAX,” which is not true, according to the FBI’s and NASCAR’s investigations. The FBI concluded on June 23 that because the noose had been in the Talladega garage stall since October 2019, no federal crime was committed.
Jimmy Kimmel Live! guest host Anthony Anderson interviewed Wallace on Tuesday and asked about the president’s tweet, saying: “What are your thoughts on how he’s come after you in the media, in the press, on social media because of what’s transpired so far?”
Wallace answered:
“When I first read it, I was like, ‘Man, there’s so much more things that are going on in the world that I feel like he should be worried about.’ But it’s hard to get people to understand, especially when the facts are delivered on the table and they’ve been there for two weeks now. So to be late to the party is one thing and to be wrong on the factual information is another.
“But all in all, he did get one thing right in his tweet though, the great officials that continue to stand behind me, NASCAR drivers and officials have continued to stand behind me through it all. He got that part right. It’s a great sport that I’m proud to be apart of.”
NASCAR president Steve Phelps — who first informed Wallace about the found noose — previously addressed baseless accusations that this was a staged incident or a hoax and said he is personally offended by those claims. He added: “For those who would think this is staged, I don’t even know where to go with that frankly.”
Wallace explained to Anderson how things transpired from his perspective at Talladega and reiterated that he never saw the noose in the garage stall and was not the person who reported it to NASCAR in the first place.
He also shared more about his immediate reaction to the news. He continued on Jimmy Kimmel Live!:
“The first person I thought of in that situation when it was brought to my attention that there was a noose found in my garage was a crew member, who happens to be African American, on my team. I text[ed] right away. I said, ‘Hey, man, are you all right?’ And he had played it off. He was like, ‘Yeah, what’s up?’
“So I called him, and I was like, ‘I guess you haven’t heard about what was going on.’ And he was like, ‘Actually I’m the one who found it.’ He was like, ‘I didn’t want to tell you and get your mind all messed up before the race. I wanted you to have a clear head.’
“So again, wasn’t brought to my attention. It was brought to me hours later after the investigation was already going through. And then I woke up Monday morning to find out that I could potentially be talking to the FBI about it because it was in their hands now. So not once did I report it. I didn’t even see the picture of the noose, the garage pull, until Tuesday after the race after I’m already home after my second phone call with the FBI. So did not report it. Just was told about it.”
You’ll see Brady respond to a tweet talking about his, er, chin dimple, Patrick Mahomes reading about his haircut and Joey Bosa thinking a tweet about his nose is “a good one.” It’s hilarious, as it always is.
