The Cleveland Browns wrapped up mandatory minicamp on Thursday and will be off until late July when they return for training camp. That does not mean for one second that they hype surrounding this team will die down. The feeling around Cleveland regarding the Browns is reaching high levels and with those feelings comes anticipation and pressure.
A large amount of that pressure falls on the shoulders of one Baker Mayfield as he looks to build on a good 2020 campaign. Mayfield certainly still has his doubters, the majority of which come from the national perspective. There is more on the line than just proving his critics wrong in 2021 though. The weight of his looming contract extension along with the expectations that come with a talented team considered by many to be Super Bowl contenders are all factors adding to the impact of his performance in 2021.
I caught up with former NFL quarterback and College Football Hall Famer, Jim Ballard to talk about Mayfield’s 2020 season and what to look for in 2021. Ballard now runs the Ballard Quarterback Academy. Enjoy!
