The Jets and Sam Darnold will be without their No. 1 wide receiver against the Chiefs on Sunday, as Jamison Crowder is out with a groin injury.
Crowder missed New York’s Week 7 matchup against the Bills after injuring his groin in practice. He returned to the practice field on a limited basis on Thursday, but sat out on Wednesday and Friday and entered the weekend with a doubtful designation. With Crowder sidelined, the Jets are without two of their top three wide receivers, as Breshad Perriman is also inactive with a concussion. That leaves Braxton Berrios and Denzel Mims as New York’s top two options against Kansas City.
The Jets will also be without Sam Ficken (groin) for a second consecutive week. Sergio Castillo will kick in his place after making his NFL debut against the Bills. Arthur Maulet is back from injured reserve, while Jabari Zuniga is making his NFL debut after missing New York’s first seven games with a groin injury suffered in the early days of training camp.
