Texas A&M’s 2026 recruiting class is heating up. The Aggies have landed nine commitments in the cycle, including four-star defensive lineman Jordan Carter and four-star wide receiver Aaron Gregory, who announced their commitments after the Aggies’ comeback win over LSU this season.
Over the past week, coach Mike Elko and his staff have made headway with the No. 1 and 2-ranked offensive lineman in the 2026 class, while Friday’s news that four-star athlete Jermaine Bishop placed the Aggies in his top 8 program list is another dose of good news for a program on the rise.
Bishop is recognized as an athlete due to his versatility, enabling him to play cornerback or wide receiver at the next level. His speed, vision, and route-running abilities slightly resemble current Texas A&M wide receiver Terry Bussey.
Along with Texas A&M, Texas, USC, Florida, Oklahoma, Houston, Michigan, and Penn State made Bishop’s top 8 program list.
Bishop’s cousin is former star Kansas State quarterback Michael Bishop, so it’s no surprise that the younger Bishop is a potential star in the making.
During his 2024 junior season at Willis HS, Bishop reeled in 83 receptions, 1,565 yards, and 18 offensive touchdowns. Defensively, he recorded 26 tackles, three interceptions, and six pass deflections.
According to 247Sports, Bishop is the 35th-ranked prospect and the 5th-ranked athlete and player in Texas.
