Auburn earns spot in 2024 receiver’s top schools list

Auburn is in the mix to land a priority four-star receiver from Tampa, Florida.

Auburn will look to boost its receiver room in the 2024 recruiting cycle and is on its way to making it happen.

[autotag]T.J. Moore[/autotag], a four-star receiver from Tampa, Florida, recently dropped his top 13 choices, and Auburn is in the mix.

Auburn was one of the first schools to extend an offer to Moore by joining Central Michigan and UCF in doing so last August. Since then, Moore has earned 36 offers from Power Five programs including USC, Michigan, Oregon, and Texas.

Since the start of the Hugh Freeze era, [autotag]Cadillac Williams[/autotag] and wide receivers coach [autotag]Marcus Davis[/autotag] have taken over as Moore’s primary recruiters. This helps, as Moore plays high school for former Auburn receiver [autotag]Jeris McIntyre[/autotag] at Tampa Catholic.

According to a scouting report by Andrew Ivens of 247Sports, Moore is a “big play wide receiver with exceptional hands” and “should be viewed as a potential WR1 at the Power Five level.” In his 11th-grade season at Tampa Catholic, he caught 42 passes for 1,021 yards and 13 TD.

Moore is a 6-3, 190-pound four-star wide receiver that ranks No. 21 in the nation at the position and is the No. 22 overall prospect from Florida for the 2024 cycle. The 2024 recruiting class for Auburn currently ranks No. 22 according to 247Sports and is headlined by four-star QB [autotag]Walker White[/autotag] and four-star RB [autotag]J’Marion Burnette[/autotag].

Four-star LB chooses Oklahoma over Auburn

Despite missing out on Phil Picciotti on Monday, Auburn is still the favorites to reel in two LBs from the 2023 cycle.

Auburn Football received great news on Monday, as four-star wide receiver [autotag]Karmello English[/autotag] from nearby Phenix City committed to the Tigers, giving them their second four-star commitment over a three-day period.  Head coach [autotag]Bryan Harsin[/autotag] hoped that his fortune would double by landing another commitment on Monday from four-star linebacker [autotag]Phil Picciotti[/autotag].

Those plans did not work out, as Picciotti announced that he would be heading to Oklahoma.

However, Auburn fans should not worry, as the Tigers are in good shape to land one, if not two talented linebackers from the 2023 recruiting cycle.

For the 2023 class, Auburn has extended an offer to 27 linebackers across the nation, and are currently the favorites to earn commitments from two of those says On3.

Auburn is currently the favorite to grab [autotag]Lewis Carter[/autotag], a four-star linebacker from Tampa, Florida. Carter is the No. 12 linebacker in the country, and the No. 35 overall recruit from the state of Florida. According to On3, Auburn has a 28% chance to grab Carter’s commitment, with UCF not far behind.

What moved Auburn ahead of programs such as Oklahoma and North Carolina was a very successful official visit during the weekend of June 17-19. It also helps that his head coach at Tampa Catholic High School is former Tiger, [autotag]Jeris McIntyre[/autotag].

Eric Muse, a three-star linebacker from Jackson-Olin High School in Birmingham is another recruit that is favored to commit to Auburn. Muse received an offer from Auburn last July, and the Tigers have received a 92.6% chance to get the commitment from Muse.
