Elsewhere, many other MMA events are taking place, including Bellator and PFL kicking off their 2023 regular season. Those events, and others feature a number of familiar names that have competed under the UFC banner.

This week, there are a total of 32 veterans of the global MMA leader competing in MMA and boxing this week from March 30-April 1.

Full fight card announced for Jorge Masvidal’s Gamebred Boxing 4, includes 9 UFC alumni

The full fight card for Jorge Masvidal’s Gamebred Boxing 4 has been released with nine UFC alumni on the card.

The finalized lineup for [autotag]Jorge Masvidal[/autotag]’s Gamebred Boxing 4 is set, and it features nine former UFC fighters.

Monday, the promotion announced its fight card, which is headlined by boxing legend [autotag]Roy Jones Jr.[/autotag] against former UFC lightweight champion [autotag]Anthony Pettis[/autotag]. The event takes place Saturday at Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee and streams on UFC Fight Pass pay-per-view for $49.99.

Also on the card, former UFC featherweight champion [autotag]Jose Aldo[/autotag] fights [autotag]Jeremy Stephens[/autotag], an opponent he defeated by TKO in MMA. Former UFC middleweight champion [autotag]Vitor Belfort[/autotag] takes on [autotag]Ronaldo Souza[/autotag].

Also familiar to UFC fans, promotional alumni [autotag]Pearl Gonzalez[/autotag] and [autotag]Gina Mazany[/autotag] square off. A bout between former UFC fighters [autotag]Joe Riggs[/autotag] and [autotag]Markus Perez[/autotag] is also scheduled.

Gamebred Boxing 4 to feature Anthony Pettis vs. Roy Jones Jr., Jose Aldo vs. Jeremy Stephens, and many more former UFC fighters.

[autotag]Anthony Pettis[/autotag] fighting a legend in his next outing, but not in MMA.

The former UFC and WEC lightweight champion is scheduled to take on former boxing champion [autotag]Roy Jones Jr.[/autotag] in the main event of Gamebred Boxing 4 on April 1 at the Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee. The event will stream on pay-per-view on UFC Fight Pass.

UFC star [autotag]Jorge Masvidal[/autotag], owner of Gamebred Boxing, announced the news Monday, revealing the event and full fight card on The MMA Hour.

Pettis has no history of competing in professional boxing. He was last seen in the MMA world in August, when he lost a unanimous decision to Stevie Ray in the 2022 PFL lightweight semifinals.

On the other hand, Jones Jr. will be competing in his first fight since boxing Mike Tyson in an exhibition bout back in November 2020. The two fought to a draw. Jones Jr., 54, has a professional boxing record of 66-9. He held championships in four different weight classes, including titles at middleweight, super middleweight, light heavyweight, and heavyweight. Jones Jr. also won a silver medal in boxing at the 1988 Olympics.

In the co-main event of the card, former UFC and WEC featherweight champion [autotag]Jose Aldo[/autotag] will take on former foe [autotag]Jeremy Stephens[/autotag].

2022 PFL Championships medical suspensions: 10 fighters ruled out indefinitely

The 2022 PFL Championships took place Friday in New York, and all 24 fighters on the card received medical suspensions.

The 2022 PFL Championships took place this past Friday at Hulu Theatre in New York and featured six $1 million title fights among other bouts.

Atop the card was a shocking upset, with [autotag]Larissa Pacheco[/autotag] defeating [autotag]Kayla Harrison[/autotag] to claim the women’s lightweight title. Other championship winners included [autotag]Brendan Loughnane[/autotag], [autotag]Olivier Aubin-Mercier[/autotag], [autotag]Sadibou Sy[/autotag], [autotag]Ante Delija[/autotag], and Rob [autotag]Wilkinson[/autotag].

On Monday, the New York State Athletic Commission, which oversaw the event, released medical suspension durations to MMA Junkie, which show all 24 combatants suspended at least one week – with two fighters out 90 days. MMA Fighting first reported the suspensions.

The NYSAC has a policy against revealing the fighters’ specific injuries to the public.

Inspired by Anthony Johnson, Jeremy Stephens’ ‘soul is thirsty for a knockout’ ahead of 2022 PFL Championships

It’s been more than four years since Jeremy Stephens’ last knockout, and he’s itching for one at the 2022 PFL Championships.

It’s been more than four years since [autotag]Jeremy Stephens[/autotag] scored a knockout, and he’s longing for one.

Stephens (29-20-1) snapped his seven-fight winless streak when he edged out Myles Price in June. While getting back to the win column is great, it’s not enough for Stephens, who is known for his fight-ending power.

The UFC alum will look to earn that knockout he’s yearning for when he meets Natan Schulte (22-5-1) at the 2022 PFL Championships, which take place Friday at Hulu Theater at Madison Square Garden in New York. The main card streams on ESPN+ pay-per-view (8 p.m. ET) after the undercard on ESPN+ (6 p.m. ET).

“I just feel like my soul is thirsty for a knockout,” Stephens told MMA Junkie Radio. “‘The Heathen’ is just raging. With these performances and the losses, I really dealt with a lot, and the last fight was just getting the win. My coach even said, ‘I’ve never seen somebody so upset about a win.’ But that’s just the type of man I am. I want to go in there, I want to collect souls, I want to put people’s lights out and leave a legacy.”

Stephens takes inspiration from one of the sports most devastating knockout artists [autotag]Anthony Johnson[/autotag], who unexpectedly died this past week.

“It’s not even about fighting. Look at my buddy Anthony Johnson,” Stephens said. “I’m just inspired by so many people’s lives that he touched and not even people are talking about his fighting. I mean, literally, the guy knocked people out so they don’t f*cking move, right? If there’s really somebody out there like that, it’s probably him that I always looked up to.”

Earlier this year, [autotag]Clay Collard[/autotag] and [autotag]Jeremy Stephens[/autotag] had arguably the best fight in PFL history

The two former UFC fighters went toe to toe in an all-out war in the opening PFL event of the 2022 season. In the end, Collard got his hand raised in a unanimous decision and handed Stephens a loss in what was his first fight since leaving the UFC.

But regardless of the result, this bout became a PFL instant classic and it stands today as one of the best fights of the year.

2022 PFL Championships lineup set for pay-per-view, includes 6 title fights and more

2022 PFL Championships feature six title fights, former UFC contenders, and Muhammad Ali’s grandson on the promotion’s first pay-per-view.

The finale of the 2022 PFL postseason is set.

2022 PFL Championships takes place Friday, Nov. 25 at Hulu Theater at Madison Square Garden in New York, the promotion announced Wednesday. The eight-fight main card streams on ESPN+ pay-per-view (8 p.m. ET) after the four-fight undercard on ESPN+ (6 p.m. ET).

While there are no surprises in terms of the six $1 million title fight matchups, which were configured during the post-season, a handful of showcase bouts were also added to the card – including one amateur bout involving the grandson of a boxing icon.

The event marks the first time the promotion has put on a pay-per-view card.
