The recruiting haul for Florida football continues to grow during college football’s early signing day on Wednesday. This time, the Gators outdueled their most fierce rivals, the Georgia Bulldogs, for a top blue-chip defender.
Four-star defensive lineman [autotag]Jeramiah McCloud[/autotag] out of Havana (Florida) Gadsden County in the 2025 cycle had initially committed to the Mississippi State Bulldogs last spring. But in early May, the 6-foot-3-inch, 280-pound flipped to the Orange and Blue; he stayed the course throughout the fall despite plenty of outside suitors.
The ‘Dawgs emerged as a threat during the regular season, but McCloud never decommitted from Florida. A few strong performances on the field helped convince him that Gainesville was his best option along the way.
“They definitely helped tonight with a win,” he said after the Gators blew out the Kentucky Wildcats at home in Week 8. “The win was the biggest thing. Tonight, I was kind of uncertain coming in. They just showed me tonight with the win how they come together. That did help themselves out a lot.”
Of course, Billy Napier and Co’s three-game winning streak to wrap up the regular season ostensibly played a major role in his signing as well.
Recruiting Summary
McCloud is ranked No. 399 overall and No. 35 at his position nationally according to the 247Sports composite while the On3 industry ranking has him at Nos. 143 and 9, respectively.
