JE Skeets believes in Nets’ Ben Simmons; plants his flag on ‘Simmons Island’

Brooklyn Nets guard Ben Simmons has a lot of people pulling for him to play well this season and one is a member of ‘Simmons Island’.

Brooklyn Nets guard Ben Simmons is going into a 2023-24 season that has a lot riding on his performance when it comes to Nets fans and the NBA space at large. With Brooklyn beginning its season on Monday, Nets fans could be encouraged to know that Simmons has another person who still believes in his ability.

Last week, JE Skeets, co-host of the “No Dunks” podcast on The Athletic, said that the second player in the best duo for the Nets is Ben Simmons instead of Cam Johnson. Most people are excited to see what Simmons can do now that he’s fully recovered from the nerve impingement in his back and it’s possible that he could be starting at point guard once the regular season begins.

In the clip below, Skeets did mention that while he knows that believing in Simmons’ comeback is a “controversial” take, he’s still ready to “plant his flag” on “Simmons Island.” The Nets begin their preseason on Monday against the Los Angeles Lakers.
