After joining Nebraska as a three-star recruit from Eden Praire, Minnesota, Spielman went on to become one of the Cornhuskers’ most prolific offensive playmakers–finishing his first three years with a total of 170 receptions, 2546 yards and 15 touchdowns.
The loss is a significant one for head coach Scott Frost’s team as Spielman was their most dynamic playmaker last season and was set to have a dominant senior season after averaging 18.3 yards-per-reception last season and leading the team with 898 yards.
The former Cornhusker will now join a TCU offense needing a deep threat after wide receiver Jalen Reagor was the first round pick of the Philadelphia Eagles during this year’s NFL Draft.
The Badgers are currently scheduled to play the Cornhuskers on November 21 at Camp Randall and now will do so without having to defend one of the conference’s best big-play receivers.
