Jaylin Bross carried 31 times for 193 yards and five touchdowns to lead the No. 11 Male High School football team to a 48-18 victory over visiting Tates Creek on Friday in a Class 6A state semifinal.
Bross scored on runs of 11, 5, 18, 6 and 4 yards as Male (14-0) ran its winning streak to a state-best 20 and advanced to next Sunday’s 6A state final against Trinity. Kickoff is set for 2 p.m. at the University of Kentucky’s Kroger Field in Lexington.

Bross’ third touchdown run – an 18-yarder – gave the Bulldogs a 28-0 lead with 2:11 left in the first half. The Commodores (9-5) scored on the final play of the first half, getting a 7-yard touchdown pass from Luke Duby to Cion Townsend to make it 28-6.
Tates Creek pulled with 28-12 on Duby’s 41-yard touchdown pass to Miles Thomas at the 10:13 mark of the third quarter. But Bross added two more touchdown runs in the third quarter, the second one making it 42-12 at the 4:25 mark.

The Bulldogs finished with 478 yards of offense (221 rushing, 257 passing). Quarterback Elijah Parish completed 10 of 19 passes for 226 yards and a touchdown. Izayah Cummings had five catches for 93 yards and a score.
Duby finished 29 of 54 for 314 yards and three touchdowns with one interception. Townsend had 11 catches for 64 yards.
