Ex-Chiefs DE Jared Allen inducted into Pro Football Hall of Fame

Former Kansas City #Chiefs DE Jared Allen was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame on Thursday ahead of Super Bowl LIX.

On Thursday, former Kansas City Chiefs defensive end Jared Allen was inducted into the NFL Hall of Fame as one of four members of the Class of 2025.

Allen entered the NFL as a fourth-round pick of the Chiefs in the 2004 NFL draft after a productive collegiate career at Idaho State.

He spent four seasons in Kansas City and was named to the PFWA NFL All-Rookie team during his time with the Chiefs. Allen was traded to the Minnesota Vikings for an impressive package of draft picks in 2007, one of which was used to select star running back Jamaal Charles.

The Chiefs paid homage to Allen in a post on Twitter after news broke of his induction to the Pro Football Hall of Fame:

During his time in Minnesota, Allen earned First-team All-Pro honors four times and represented the Vikings in the NFL Pro Bowl five times.

Given Allen’s lengthy and impressive career, it was only a matter of time until he earned his spot among the NFL’s most beloved legends.

Vikings legend Jared Allen named to Pro Football Hall of Fame Class of 2025

The result of voting this year has Jared Allen set to be enshrined in Canton, Ohio as a member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

After coming so close for so many years, Jared Allen can finally jump on his horse and ride to Canton. The Vikings legendary pass rusher finally heard his name on Thursday be officially tied to the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

The result of voting this year has Jared Allen set to be enshrined in Canton, Ohio as a member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

Allen played a total of 12 years in the NFL, six of which came with the Minnesota Vikings. Those six years proved to be his most fruitful in his career as he would accumulate a whopping 85.5 of his 136 sacks in his career. While a member of the Vikings, Allen woudl also be named to three All-Pro teams and be a finalist for Defensive Player of the Year twice.

Allen’s best year came in 2011 when he racked up 22 sacks coming within one sack of breaking Michael Strahan’s all-time record for a season.

Jared Allen will be one of four modern members inducted into the Hall of Fame. Alongside him will be Antonio Gates, Sterling Sharpe, and Eric Allen.

They will be inducted on August 2, 2025 at the Pro Football Hall of Fame ceremony in Canton, Ohio.

Former Panthers DE Jared Allen named to Pro Football Hall of Fame

Well, at least one former Panther is headed to the Pro Football Hall of Fame this summer.

Steve Smith Sr. and Luke Kuechly may not have gotten their knocks this year, but at least another former Carolina Panther is headed to the Hall.

On Thursday night, defensive end Jared Allen was named one of four members for the Pro Football Hall of Fame’s 2025 class. He will be inducted this summer alongside Sterling Sharpe, Eric Allen and Antonio Gates.

Allen played the final 14 games of his NFL career with the Panthers, who traded for the then-33-year-old pass rusher in the middle of the 2015 campaign. That year saw Carolina go 15-1 in the regular season en route to their second-ever Super Bowl appearance.

Prior to his short stint in Charlotte, Allen split his first 11 years (and part of his 12th) between the Kansas City Chiefs (2004 to 2008), the Minnesota Vikings (2008 to 2013) and the Chicago Bears (2014 to 2015).

The former fourth-round pick, who led the league in sacks in 2007 and 2011, finished with four first-team All-Pro selections and five Pro Bowl nods.

Jared Allen, Sterling Sharpe, Eric Allen, Antonio Gates comrprise 2025 Pro Football HOF class

What four players comprise the 2025 Pro Football HOF class?

The 2025 Pro Football Hall of Fame class will have four players. One won’t be New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning.

Jared Allen, Sterling Sharpe — finally! — Eric Allen and Antonio Gates make up the quartet who will be inducted in Canton, OH, later this year.

Sharpe was the lone finalist from the Seniors, Coach and Contributor categories to make the Hall in 2025

Manning was in his first year of eligibility for the Hall of Fame. He led the Giants to two Super Bowl titles, which normally would be enough on a resume to get someone enshdrined.

However, there must have been voters who held his 117-117 record as a starter against him. He threw for 57,023 yards with 366 touchdowns against 244 interceptions.

Raiders great CB Eric Allen makes Pro Football Hall of Fame class of 2025

Eric Allen has finally broken through and has been named to the 2025 Pro Football Hall of Fame class of 2025.

After several years of near misses, Eric Allen has finally broken through. The six-time Pro Bowl cornerback has been named to the Pro Football Hall of Fame class of 2025.

Allen played the final four years of his 14-year career with the Raiders. He revived his career in those years, collecting 16 interceptions and 46 pass breakups including four playoff games.

Allen made six Pro Bowls over his career, including one All Pro. All happened while with the Eagles and Saints.

The full class is as follows:

DE Jared Allen
WR Sterling Sharpe
CB Eric Allen
TE Antonio Gates

Allen had already established himself as one of the best in league history before he joined the Raiders. But he didn’t just hang around in his four season in Oakland. He added 15 more interceptions in his mid-thirties with the Raiders, including returning three for touchdowns in 2000 at the age of 35.

He was a key part of the Raiders during their last glory years of the late 90s and early 2000s. His success in Silver & Black cemented his legacy and ultimately pushed him to immortal status in Canton.

Suggs was acquired by the Chiefs toward the end of the 2019 season, serving as an additional piece on the journey to Super Bowl LIV. The 37-year-old played a significant role in the postseason, playing in most of the snaps and winning his second title after successful All-Pro seasons with the Baltimore Ravens.

Former Viking Jared Allen named Pro Football HoF semi-finalist

The former Minnesota Viking legend is on the short list to become a hall of famer.

Former Minnesota star defensive end Jared Allen, who played for the Vikings from 2008 to 2013, was one of 25 players who became semifinalists for the 2025 Hall of Fame class.

Allen came to the Vikings from the Kansas City Chiefs where he started his career. He played for the Chiefs from 2004-2007. After he left Minnesota, he played two seasons with the Chicago Bears before playing one final season with the Carolina Panthers.

Allen is considered one of the greatest players ever to wear Purple and Gold. He finished his Minnesota career with 85.5 sacks, which ranks fourth in franchise history. In 2011, he led the entire league with 22 sacks, which is a single-season Vikings franchise record. In that season he finished second in NFL Defensive Player of the Year voting behind Terrell Suggs.

Allen’s 136 career sacks rank 12th in NFL history. During his time in the league, he was named to five Pro Bowls. It seems like a matter of time before Allen gets his gold jacket.

Two former Chiefs are semifinalists for Pro Football Hall of Fame class of 2025

Former #Chiefs defensive linemen Jared Allen and Terrell Suggs were named semifinalists for election to the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

The Kansas City Chiefs are one of the most storied franchises in NFL history and have posted countless league records and produced several football legends.

Since the Chiefs joined the NFL in 1960, 25 of Kansas City’s players have been elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio, the eighth-most in league history.

Now that number may rise even higher.

On Tuesday, 25 players were named semifinalists for the Hall of Fame Class of 2025, including former Chiefs defensive end Jared Allen and linebacker Terrell Suggs.

Allen was a member of Kansas City’s defensive front from 2004-2007 before making his way to Minnesota, Chicago, and Carolina where he finished his career.

Suggs was a member of the Chiefs’ Super Bowl LIV victory over the San Francisco 49ers in 2019.

Only four to eight players from the list of 25 will be selected to the Hall of Fame. Stay tuned to see if these two defensive greats will be enshrined in Canton next year.

The Vikings and Jets will play in London in Week 5.
