Sixers cruise to easy 114-95 win over Cavaliers, salvage road trip

The Philadelphia 76ers knocked off the Cleveland Cavaliers on the road on Sunday.

The Philadelphia 76ers had been in a bit of slump lately. They went into Sunday’s game losers of five of their past seven and had lost five straight road games overall, but all of that was erased when they matched up with the Cleveland Cavaliers.

After needing a Joel Embiid dunk late to escape the Cavaliers on Tuesday at home, they used an efficient offense and a suffocating defense to earn themselves a 114-95 win over the Cavaliers to salvage a game on their brief 3-game road trip.

Tobias Harris, after a miserable 4-for-17 shooting performance in the previous matchup against Cleveland, scored 27 points on an efficient 12-for-14 shooting to lead the Sixers while James Ennis III and Furkan Korkmaz provided a spark off the bench scoring 14 and 13 points, respectively.

Embiid had 14 points, Al Horford added 11 points, seven rebounds, and six assists, and Ben Simmons added 10 points and 11 assists. The team shot 54.8% from the floor, committed only 13 turnovers, and led by as many as 31. They held Cleveland to 37.8% shooting.

This was an important win for the Sixers to get themselves back on track. The losses to the Magic and the Thunder were a bit discouraging and for them to impose their will and play up to their talent level is a good sign moving forward.

The Sixers now have two days off before returning home to face the New York Knicks on Wednesday. [lawrence-related id=19390,19383,19377]
