A pair of Florida football coaches hit the road on Tuesday, heading down I-75 for a visit with a trio of Tampa Catholic prospects at their high school, according to Swamp247. Area recruiter Sean Spencer and wide receivers coach Billy Gonzales will be making the two-hour trek as the Gators continue to pound the pavement on the 2024 recruiting trail.
First on the docket is four-star wide receiver [autotag]TJ Moore[/autotag], who has the Orange and Blue as his top school after a visit earlier this spring — with the Clemson Tigers and Tennessee Volunteers also giving them a run for the money. The 6-foot-3-inch, 190-pound receiver hauled in 42 passes for 1,021 yards (24.3 average) and 13 touchdowns against high-tier competition during his high school junior campaign in 2022.
Moore is ranked No. 179 overall and No. 25 at his position nationally according to the 247Sports composite while the On3 industry ranking has him at Nos. 147 and 26, respectively. Contrary to what is currently known about his preferences, On3’s Recruiting Prediction Machine has the Central Florida Knights in the lead for his commitment with a 21.3% chance of signing him, followed by the Florida State Seminoles (18.6%), Miami Hurricanes (16.0%) and Pitt Panthers (9.0%), respectively.
Next up is four-star athlete [autotag]Jameer Grimsley[/autotag], who made a trip to the Swamp this spring while also earning an offer. The 6-foot-2-inch, 185-pound player is truly an all-around athlete who can slot in on both sides of the line of scrimmage in the passing game. Like his teammate, he also has a strong preference for UF though he does have an official visit with the Penn State Nittany Lions this summer.
Grimsley is ranked No. 298 overall and No. 25 at his position nationally according to the 247Sports composite while the On3 industry ranking has him at Nos. 273 and 23, respectively. The RPM puts the Alabama Crimson Tide at the head of the line for the young prospect’s commitment with a 24.5% chance of landing him, followed by Penn State (21.4%), the Michigan Wolverines (13.9%) and UCF (7.8%), respectively.
Last, but far from least, is four-star interior offensive lineman [autotag]Eddy Pierre-Louis[/autotag] — the younger brother of former Florida offensive lineman Richard Gouraige. The 6-foot-3-inch, 335-pound trench warrior dropped in on campus for his brother’s pro day earlier this spring but has likely made casual visits during his sibling’s playing days as well.
Pierre-Louis is ranked No. 192 overall and No. 12 at his position nationally according to the 247Sports composite while the On3 industry ranking has him at Nos. 244 and 17, respectively. The RPM has Florida at the top of the list with a 36.9% chance of signing him, followed by UCF (20.3%), FSU (7.2%) and Miami (6.0%), respectively.
