Steelers fans react to AFC North showdown in Week 10

In Week 10, the Ravens a staged comeback to beat the Bengals in Week 10, leaving Steelers fans disappointed with divisional implications.

In the AFC North, true classics never fade away—the rivalry games simply grow more dynamic. This was evident in the second meeting between the Baltimore Ravens and Cincinnati Bengals in Week 10 on Thursday Night Football.

Steelers fans, who may have been rooting for Cincinnati to help further Pittsburgh’s lead in the divisional race over the Ravens, were likely disappointed by what can only be described as a miraculous comeback by Baltimore.

With 13:21 remaining in the third quarter, Bengals QB Joe Burrow threw a 67-yard touchdown pass to his WR1, Ja’Marr Chase, putting Cincinnati up 21-7. However, Ravens CB Marlon Humphrey forced Bengals RB Chase Brown to fumble the football with less than seven minutes left in the third quarter, setting the stage for a terrifying Baltimore comeback.

Four second-half Ravens touchdowns gave the team a 35-28 lead with less than two minutes remaining. A failed two-point conversion ultimately spelled the Bengals’ fate, securing a 35-34 Ravens victory in Week 10. While disappointing to say the least, here are some of the best Steelers fans’ reactions to this outstanding game.

Marlon Humphrey voices frustration with Ravens’ pass defense after win over Bengals

Marlon Humphrey voices frustration with Ravens’ pass defense after win over Bengals

The Baltimore Ravens entered Week 10, allowing the most passing yards in the league, and things only got worse against the Cincinnati Bengals. Quarterback Joe Burrow threw for 428 yards and four touchdowns, with wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase catching 11 passes for 264 yards and three touchdowns against the Ravens’ secondary.

Luckily for Baltimore, the offense led by MVP frontrunner Lamar Jackson has been good enough to overcome the poor play of the defense in most games this season, but that does not mean that these issues are not a threat to keep the team from reaching their ultimate goal of a Super Bowl.

Ravens cornerback Marlon Humphrey did not mince words about the secondary’s performance following the thrilling 35-34 victory over the Bengals.

These wins are getting harder to enjoy based off of what we’re doing in the pass defense,Humphrey said. “It’s not cool to win a game, and you look up and a team has 300 passing [yards on you] every week. It’d be different if we didn’t have [any] guys that could play. I haven’t once heard anybody say, ‘We don’t have the guys; we don’t have the players; we don’t have the skill.’ We’re not doing it in practice. It’s clear that it’s something from … When we do that last preparation to the game, what is happening in that span? We’ve got to figure it out. It’s pretty simple.

It is hard to imagine Baltimore’s defense becoming a top unit this far into the season, but as Humphrey said, they have the players to be a much better unit than they have been over the first 10 weeks. Rookie defensive coordinator Zach Orr has been heavily scrutinized in his first season, taking the reigns from now-Seattle Seahawks head coach Mike Macdonald, who was the mastermind of one of the best defenses in franchise history last season with most of the same players. With several extra days before their next game against the Pittsburgh Steelers, Orr and the rest of the coaching staff need to hammer down the basics to hopefully begin turning things around on defense.

Former LSU receiver Ja’Marr Chase has career night in loss to Ravens

Former LSU receiver Ja’Marr Chase put up massive numbers on Thursday night

Former LSU receiver [autotag]Ja’Marr Chase[/autotag] went off in the Bengals’ Thursday night loss to the Ravens.

The fourth-year receiver caught 11 passes for 264 yards and three touchdowns. It was the second-highest yardage total of Chase’s career, falling just short of the 266 he posted against Kansas City as a rookie. It was Chase’s third time notching three scores as a pro.

Despite the effort and the elite performance from fellow LSU product Joe Burrow, it wasn’t enough for the Bengals to get the win. After cutting the lead to one in the final seconds, the Bengals opted to go for two and try and win it in regulation. The Ravens got a stop and that was that.

On the year, Chase has 66 catches for 981 yards and 10 scores.

Burrow and Chase are both having career years, yet Cincinnati is unable to capitalize on their star’s success.

Chase totaled 457 yards in his two games against the Ravens this year — both were losses.

Playoff hopes aren’t quite dead for the Bengals and with Burrow playing at the level he is, you can’t rule it out. It will be an uphill battle to get there, though.

Tylan Wallace’s breakout performance fuels Ravens’ 35-34 Thursday night win over Bengals

Tylan Wallace performed like Thursday night at Oklahoma State, earning All-American and All-Big-12 honors for the Cowboys.

In a game reminiscent of his college days, Wallace and Ja’Marr Chase traded highlight plays as the Baltimore Ravens held on for a 35-34 win on Amazon Prime’s Thursday Night Football.

Wallace had three catches for 115 yards (38.3 avg) and one touchdown, including an 84-yard catch and run that resulted in Lamar Jackson’s longest touchdown pass. Ja’Marr Chase almost spoiled the Purple Rising party, as the former LSU star logged 11 catches on 17 targets for 264 yards (26.4 avg) and three touchdowns, with a long of 70 yards for a touchdown.

Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson was 25-33 passing for 290 yards (8.8 avg), four touchdowns, zero interceptions, and a 141.4 rating. His AFC North rival, Joe Burrow, did his part for the Bengals, hanging in the pocket as he went 34-56 passing for 428 yards, four touchdowns, and zero interceptions.

The Ravens defense allowed 470 yards, as Cincinnati was 8-16 on third downs.   Baltimore was sloppy on the night, with 11 penalties for 81 yards.

Ravens hold off Bengals as two-point conversion attempt fails

The Ravens are 7-3, the Bengals 4-6 after a wild game in Baltimore

In a slobberknocker of a Thursday Night Football game, it came down to a two-point conversion.

Joe Burrow’s pass to Tanner Hudson was incomplete and the Baltimore Ravens had a 35-34 win over the Cincinnati Bengals.

The setup came after Burrow drove Cincinnati 70 yards over nine plays. He hit his third touchdown pass of the game to Ja’Marr Chase to bring the Bengals within a point.

The Ravens had scored touchdowns on four consecutive drives to overcome a 21-7 deficit.

Baltimore won the season series. The Ravens outscored the Bengals 76-72, winning the first game in overtime.

Burrow threw for 428 yards, completing 34-of-56 passes.

Chase had 11 receptions for 264 yards and three touchdown receptions.

For the Ravens, Lamar Jackson was 25-of-33 for 290 yards and four touchdowns.

Ja’Marr Chase catches 70-yard TD pass after Ravens score 21 straight points

The Ravens and Bengals game turned into a second-half slugfest

A sleepy Baltimore Ravens offense woke up big time in the second half.

Ignited by Roquan Smith recovery of a Chase Brown fumble, Baltimore scored 21 straight points to turn a 21-7 deficit into a 28-21 lead in the fourth quarter.

The touchdown that gave Baltimore the lead came on a pass from Lamar Jackson to a wide-open Mark Andrews.

The play was good for 18 yards. The Ravens went for two points after the TD because Justin Tucker had missed the PAT after their prior touchdown.

Jackson simply took the football around the end and Baltimore led by seven with less than six minutes left.

The Ravens’ lead lasted all of 13 seconds.

Joe Burrow went deep to Ja’Marr Chase and the receiver caught the ball and took his time before crossing the goal line.

Chase had 238 receiving yards after that catch.

The Bengals had two scoring drives of one play each that covered 137 yards, both on passes from Burrow to Chase.

Joe Burrow his Ja’Marr Chase with 67-yard touchdown pass for Bengals

The LSU connection of Joe Burrow and Ja’Marr Chase struck for the Bengals

The Cincinnati Bengals’ offense was in gear on Thursday against the Baltimore Ravens.

Up 14-7 already, the Bengals got a quick strike. On their first offensive play of the second half, Joe Burrow hit Ja’Marr Chase with a pass and the brilliant receiver did the rest.

The 67-yard touchdown play gave Cincy a 21-7 lead after the PAT.

Burrow had thrown for 228 yards and two touchdowns to that point. Chase had five catches for 119 yards and the score.

Ja’Marr Chase scores stunning 67-yard TD vs. Ravens

Ja’Marr Chase just did the Ravens dirty again.

The Cincinnati Bengals needed one play in the second half of Thursday’s primetime game against the Baltimore Ravens to score a touchdown.

It was yet another vintage Ja’Marr Chase yards-after-catch all-timer of a highlight.

Chase caught Joe Burrow’s pass, turned up field and navigated past multiple defenders, scoring a 67-yard touchdown to put the Bengals up 21-7.

The throw from Burrow was fantastic after a semi-messy pocket, but it is Chase once again torching the Ravens for a stunning score while sprinting down the field that is the real highlight.

Cincinnati entered this one hoping to get back to 5-5 and remain in the playoff race, with Chase putting the team on his back with this one.

Kelsey Conway is reporting that Tee Higgins is likely to miss the Cincinnati Bengals matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 8

The Eagles are in Cincinnati for an intriguing matchup against the Bengals, and one of Joe Burrow’s biggest weapons is unlikely to be available.

Higgins has 29 receptions for 341 yards, and three touchdowns in five games played this season. His 5.8 receptions per game are a career-high, and his 68.2 yards per game is the highest since 2021.
