The Cincinnati Bengals reunited Ja’Marr Chase and Joe Burrow when they officially selected Chase with the fifth overall draft pick in the 2021 NFL Draft.
Both Chase and Burrow were on the field together at Cincinnati’s Tuesday OTA practice. Today was the first step in Burrow and Chase reigniting the chemistry that helped LSU win a national title back in 2019.

Joe Burrow seemed quite happy throughout the session, and even after when speaking with the media.
Burrow clearly knows Ja’Marr Chase quite well, and the excitement in Burrow’s voice was blatantly clear.
He is excited to have his former teammate back by his side.

Knowing Chase as he does, Burrow said he was excited when he heard the wideout was joining him in Cincinnati.
“Obviously me and Ja’Marr have a good rapport, (we’re) good friends, teammates,” Burrow said in his press conference earlier today.
“I think he’s going to bring an explosiveness to our offense. He’s tough to tackle. You get the ball in his hands, and he’s a big, strong receiver that corners are going to have a tough time tackling him.” Burrow continued. “And then he can take the top off a defense. So we have some great receivers, great weapons that are at our disposal and we’ve got to utilize them properly.”
Burrow is still rehabbing and recovering from the reconstructive knee surgery he has last December. According to his doctor, Burrow is currently on track to not only be healthy at the start of the season, but to also be available to start week one when the Bengals open up the season at home against the Minnesota Vikings.
If Burrow and Chase can recapture what they did at LSU, Cincinnati could truly emerge on the offensive side of the ball this season.
