Wisconsin 2025 DB commit cracks Rivals top-250 national rankings

Wisconsin football class of 2025 cornerback commit Jaimier Scott moved up to No. 136 in Rivals’ updated national rankings on Wednesday.

Rivals also catapulted the four-star recruit to No. 9 from the state of Ohio and No. 10 at his position in the class.

Despite receiving over 20 offers from Division I programs across the nation, Scott committed to the Badgers on January 20, 2024. The Cincinatti, Ohio native chose UW over programs such as Michigan, Penn State, Cincinnati, Pittsburgh, Georgia Tech, Illinois, Tennessee and Miami (Florida).

247Sports, meanwhile, has Scott as the No. 232 player in the class of 2025, No. 7 athlete and No. 10 recruit from the state of Ohio.

Scott was the third defensive back in the class of 2025 to commit to Luke Fickell’s platoon behind three-star safeties Remington Moss and Grant Dean. The 6-foot-1, 177-pound rising senior remains the only corner to commit to UW in the class.

At the time of Scott’s commitment, Wisconsin’s class of 2025 was ranked No. 9 in the nation. Following recent commitments from wide receiver Cameron Miller and athlete Luke Emmerich, UW’s class of 2025 currently sits at No. 19 nationally with 11 commitments.

Wisconsin added to its class of 2025 yesterday with a commitment from four-star athlete Jaimier Scott.

The commitment is yet another for head coach Luke Fickell from the state of Ohio, and from the city of Cincinnati specifically. Given his connections in the area thanks to his previous coaching experience, it is a talent pipeline that is expected to continue for years to come.

Scott is 247Sports’ No. 326 player in the class of 2025, No. 20 athlete and No. 12 recruit from the state of Ohio. He chooses Wisconsin over top programs including Michigan, Tennessee and Penn State.

While listed as an athlete, Scott is expected to play defensive back at the next level. He is the Badgers’ second DB committed in the class of 2025, joining three-star safety Remington Moss.

Wisconsin’s class of 2025 now ranks No. 9 in the nation after Scott’s commitment. The group has six commits at this early point in the process.

Wisconsin head coach Luke Fickell seems to be committed to recruiting the state of Ohio, and the city of Cincinnati specifically. His tenure at Cincinnati ended in 2022 when he took the Wisconsin job. But his recruiting ties to the city and the state figure to stay strong moving into the future.

There might be a recent hint at that being the case. Wisconsin made the top eight schools for four-star class of 2025 athlete Jaimier Scott.

Scott is 247Sports’ No. 323 player in the class of 2025, No. 19 athlete and No. 12 recruit from his home state of Ohio. He is from the city of Cincinnati and plays at Mt Healthy High School.

Wisconsin is in the final eight schools alongside Michigan, Tennessee, Illinois, Penn State, Kentucky, Virginia Tech and Louisville.

Wisconsin’s class of 2025 currently ranks No. 14 in the nation with four commitments. It is a big class for Fickell as he works to continue to build his brand of program at Wisconsin.
