Boom! Texas A&M has landed its first commitment from the transfer portal, as former Baylor and UAB quarterback Jacob Zeno is headed to College Station next season, adding to the Aggies’ QB depth.
Texas A&M’s quarterback situation is still being determined, but redshirt freshman Marcel Reed has more or less taken control of the starting job, especially after Conner Weigman entered the transfer portal. Adding Zeno to the mix only adds to the overall depth an assurance that the position is in good hands.
After spending three seasons in Waco (TX) with the Baylor Bears, Zeno transferred to UAB for a change of scenery. Despite some injury issues, the veteran signal-caller had a solid 2023 season before his 2024 campaign ended prematurely.
Zeno threw for 3,126 yards at a 73.6 completion rate, with 20 touchdowns and nine interceptions in 2023. Mike Elko and his staff hope his past success is enough to rebound in 2025 if his name is called.
