Texas A&M’s transfer portal additions include quarterback Jacob Zeno and tight end Micah Riley, who fill needs on the 2025 roster. But this is just the start, as several potential additions have already made their way to College Station this week, and several key visits are lined up.
After finishing the 2024 season as one of the more underwhelming run defenses in SEC play, the Aggies require run-stopping linebackers and more depth on the defensive line, and according to Texas A&M recruiting insider Jaxson Callaway, coach Mike Elko will host Florida transfer OLB Jack Plyburn on Friday.
Texas A&M defensive coordinator Jay Bateman served as Florida’s linebackers coach and coached Plyburn two seasons ago. Primarily lined up as an Edge rusher, Plyburn’s violent play demeanor and run-stopping skillset make him a plug-and-play starter, as the junior racked up 60 tackles, a sack, and an interception during the 2024 season.
With the return of starting OLB/Edge Cashius Howell, Plyburn would be a perfect fit in Bateman’s scheme and an immediate upgrade against the run on the edge.
Texas A&M is set to host Florida OLB transfer Jack Pyburn tomorrow for a visit, he tells me.
