Texas A&M baseball’s 2025 non-conference has been revealed

Here are the dates and times for every non-conference game on Texas A&M 2025 baseball schedule

Texas A&M’s 2025 baseball season is getting closer and closer. New head coach Michael Earley inherited the program after serving as the hitting coach under former head coach Jim Schlossnagle. He is now with the Texas Longhorns after his disastrous transition this summer.

While Schlossnagle and the Aggies are officially old news, excitement is back in College Station ahead of Earley’s first season with a stacked roster after nearly every starter outside of closer Evan Aschenbeck has returned, including star hitters Jace LaViolette and Gavin Grahovic.

After two exhibition games, the returners are looking solid. Still, the newcomers to the roster, including former Texas Tech infielder Gavin Kash, have made an impact at the plate, while several new faces on the mound, including former Long Beach State P Myles Patton, have looked the part.

Before entering SEC play, Texas A&M will open the season with four consecutive home games vs. Elon, McNeese, Cal Poly, and Texas State before heading to Houston to play in the Astros Foundation College Classic, starting with facing Arizona on February 28th.

Texas A&M has the No. 2-ranked newcomers class per Baseball America

The Texas A&M baseball team comes in ranked No. 2 in Baseball America’s 2025 newcomer class

Former head baseball coach Jim Schlossnagle left Texas A&M for rival Texas hours after the team lost to Tennessee in the College World Series, sending the program into a frenzy.

At the drop of a hat, several stars from the 2024 roster entered the transfer portal, and the university quickly went on a nationwide search. However, Texas A&M Athletic Director Trev Alberts didn’t have to look far after signing player favorite and hitting coach Mike Earley.

So far this offseason, Earley’s hiring has looked like the right choice. Star hitters, including Jace LaViolette and Gavin Grahovic, withdrew their names from the portal, while ace pitcher Ryan Prager put his MLB future on hold. Just as important, they held on to a number of top transfers and recruits.

They brought in seven players ranked in Baseball America’s Top 100 and two freshmen in the Top 500. Below, you can see the players and their ranking:

TRANSFERS:

  • Myles Patton – Pitcher – No. 11
  • Wyatt Henseler – Infield – No. 24
  • Gavin Kash – Infield – No. 25
  • Conner Harrison – Catcher – No. 31
  • Grant Cunningham – Pitcher – No. 35
  • Jacob Galloway – Catcher – No. 61
  • Jamal George – Infielder/Catcher – No. 68

Texas A&M junior outfielder is the No. 1 ranked 2025 MLB draft prospect

Texas A&M junior outfielder Jace LaViollete continues to receive high praise from MLB scouts

Texas A&M’s baseball program is under new management, as former hitting coach Michael “Mike” Earley is now the program’s newest head coach after Jim Schlossnagle left for Texas to join is close friend, Longhorns Athletic Director Chris Del Conte.

One of Earley’s primary jobs this offseason was to keep the 2024 roster intact, starting with star hitters Gavin Grahovic and Jace LaViolette, while ace pitcher Ryan Prager was slated to leave for the MLB. Well, credit to Earley’s relationship building, as all three paired with several other starters/reserves.

LaViolette’s skillset is undeniable, as the 6-6, 230 pound outfielder is built like a Texas A&M tight end, while possessing the power destroy any pitch. In just two seasons, the Katy, Texas native is just seven home runs away from breaking Daylan’s Holt’s career record.

While Aggie fans are certainly excited for him return to one of the stacked hitting lineups in the country, MLB scouts will be attending as many Texas A&M games as possible, as MLB Pipeline recently ranked LaViolette as the No. 1-ranked prospect ahead of the 2025 MLB Draft.

During his 2024 sophomre season, LaViolette hit .305 with 29 home runs (second most in program history), 78 RBI, while drawing an impressive 64 walks.

Texas A&M will open the 2025 season, participating in the Astros Foundation College Classic starting with a matchup against Arizona on Friday, February 28.

Texas A&M baseball is poised to have another deep College World Series run

After an eventful end to the season the Aggie roster is shaping up to compete for a national title again

The 2024 Texas A&M baseball season was one for the ages, even though it ended with a sour conclusion on a few fronts. On the heels of a College World Series runner-up finish and a record-breaking season, things were extremely bright for the future of the Aggies program.

However, less than 24 hours after the Championship loss, former head coach Jim Schlossnagle shockingly jumped ship, and the core of the team entered the transfer portal. With his first major coaching hire Texas A&M AD Trev Alberts was impressed with player favorite Michael Earley. With this hire, A&M brought back most of the 2024 roster while adding several key additions through the transfer portal.

The team over at D1baseball (subscription required) did a great job recapping the season and giving some insight on things to come for the Earley-led Aggie team for 2025.

Texas A&M star outfielder Jace LaViolette explains why he decided to return to Aggieland

“Aggieland… the past two years has undoubtedly been the best two years of my life. Mike Earley is the best coach in the nation,” he said.

After briefly entering the transfer portal following the departure of former head coach Jim Schlossnagle to the Longhorns, sophomore outfielder Jace LaViolette became one of numerous Aggies to announce their respective return to Texas A&M this past week.

“Aggieland… the past two years has undoubtedly been the best two years of my life,” LaViolette said in a hype video. “Mike Earley is the best coach in the nation. There is nobody that I would rather play for.

“Gig ‘Em!”

LaViolette spoke to KBTX sports reporter Nicole Griffith on Tuesday at Michael Earley‘s press conference that introduced him as the new Aggies head coach.

“Honestly I’m just excited to finally see Mike in front of the whole team once everything settles down and just be like, ‘Hey, lets go do this! I’m the next head coach and we’re going to have a lot of fun,'” LaViolette foretold. “This team is going to play really, really loose and let’s just go have fun.”

After smashing 50 home runs during his first two seasons in College Station, LaViolette is seven away from breaking the program record of 56 set by Daylan Holt in 2000.

Postseason star Kaeden Kent has made a decision regarding his Texas A&M future

Kaeden Kent will officially return for the 2025 season!

Texas A&M’s baseball program is in good hands under Michael Earley, who was officially hired as the program’s 21st head coach after the stunning departure of now-former head coach Jim Schlossnagle to head the Texas Longhorns.

After Schlossnagle’s exit, it was assumed that more than half of the 14 players on Texas A&M’s roster who entered the transfer would follow Schlossnagle to Austin (TX), but due to their close relationship with Michael Ealrely and his vision for the future of the program, the withdrawals began to flood in.

Starting with star hitters Jace LaViolette and Gavin Grahovac on Tuesday, six Aggies have withdrawn their names, including incoming sophomore outfielder Caden Sorrell, and earlier today, postseason star Kaeden Kent will also return for the 2025 season.

Kent, who is the son of future MLB Hall of Famer Jeff Kent, unexpectedly replaced injured star Braden Montgomery in the Aggies lineup in the super regional round vs. Oregon, as his Texas A&M legacy was quickly cemented.

Finishing the postseason with 14 hits and two home runs, Kent became the most reliable batter in the lineup, and with Montgomery likely headed to the MLB next season, he is slated to earn a starting spot in the lineup while riding momentum.

Texas A&M OF Caden Sorrell has announced his Aggie playing future

Incoming Texas A&M sophomore Caden Sorrell is coming back for the 2025 season!

Texas A&M’s baseball program is in good hands under Michael Earley, who was officially hired as the program’s 21st head coach after the stunning departure of now-former head coach Jim Schlossnagle to head the Texas Longhorns.

While many in the media, especially in Austin, Texas, believed that Schlossnagle would take most of the roster with him, think again! After nearly a dozen Aggies entered the transfer portal early last week, more than half of said entrees have removed their names, including star hitters Jace LaViolette and Gavin Grahovac on Tuesday.

The Texas A&M baseball team’s commitment to the 2025 season is unwavering. Postseason hero Kaeden Kent and incoming sophomore outfielder Caden Sorrell have both announced their returns, demonstrating their confidence in the team’s future under the leadership of Michael Earley, the team’s former hitting coach.

A superstar in the making, Sorrell’s highlight catches were just a small part of his stellar play, finishing his freshman season with a .275 average with 50 hits and 11 home runs on the year.

Texas A&M baseball lands a huge commitment from former Texas Tech star

Former Texas Tech star Gavin Kash is heading to College Station!

As someone who has been covering Texas A&M athletics for nearly three years, the last week has been, by far, the craziest in recent memory.

However, the negative tone surrounding Aggie baseball after head coach Jim Schlossnagle shockingly departed to take over the Texas Longhorns program one day after the Aggies’ CWS Championship Finals loss has flipped.

Sunday’s news that former hitting coach Michael Earley had been hired as the program’s 21st head coach led to a host of players on the roster removing their names from the transfer portal, including star hitters Jace LaViolette and Gavin Grahovac.

Although more positive announcements are slated to arrive this week, Earley received an early Christmas (that’s a joke, folks) present hours after his official introduction on Tuesday afternoon. Former Texas Tech star first baseman Gavin Kash will reportedly transfer to Texas A&M for the 2025 season.

As one of the top five players in the transfer portal, Kash is a power hitter with MLB potential. He seems like a nearly seamless replacement for outgoing Aggie first baseman Ted Burton.

In his last two seasons combined with the Red Raiders, Kash hit 41 home runs. He is coming off an impressive 2023 season in which he slashed .300/.365/.561 with 15 home runs and 51 RBIs.

Aggies head coach Michael Earley is ‘where I want to be’ with players who vouched for him

“It’s been an interesting week, a lot has happened. I found out a lot about myself. I ended up where I want to be and I’m super grateful.”

The Texas A&M Athletic Department formally introduced Michael Earley as the 21st head coach in program history on Tuesday afternoon in College Station.

“It’s been an interesting week. A lot has happened and I found out a lot about myself. In the end, I ended up where I want to be and I’m super grateful for that, super grateful for all the people that got my back,” Earley explained. “To the players, number one, this is your program. To the former players, this is your program. I am just here to give you everything I have every single day. I will do anything I can for anyone who has ever touched this program, and especially you guys.

“Anything you ever need in life, I’m confident I can help you in baseball, but I think my biggest job is to help you guys in life. I appreciate you guys having my back, getting me in the door and the opportunity to run right through it.”

The players who vouched for Earley’s return include underclassmen superstars Jace LaViolette and Gavin Grahovac, who respectively withdrew from the NCAA Transfer Portal on Tuesday morning.

Texas A&M OF Jace LaViolette has announced his Aggie playing future

Jace LaViolette is back and ready for the 2025 season!

On Sunday, Texas A&M’s baseball program found its new head coach in Michael Earley after Jim Schlossnagle’s shocking departure to arch-rival Texas just one day after the Aggies played for a National Championship, sending the sports world into a frenzy over easily avoidable problems created on Schlossnagle’s end.

After briefly following Schlossnagle to Texas on the day of his announcement, it seemed that the former Aggie hitting coach wasn’t the biggest fan of the sudden transition, already building a home in College Station while his relationship with the Aggie’s talented roster was undeniable.

With Schlossnagle’s move to Austin, nearly a dozen players unsurprisingly entered the transfer portal, as the program was in transit for four full days. On Friday, reactions to Earley becoming a legitimate candidate from nearly every 2024 starter and reserve player poured in. Star hitters Gavin Grahovac and Jace LaViolette led the charge in supporting the hire.

For those who thought Tuesday would be a boring news day, think again! Just an hour after SEC Freshman of the Year Gavin Grahovac announced his return to the program, incoming junior star outfielder Jace LaViolette, who was the highest-ranked player in the portal, is now headed back to College Station for likely one more season, stating on an Instagram post,

“No place I’d rather be let’s go do it 👍”

After Earley’s hire, this was a no-brainer for LaViolette. He is just seven homers away from breaking Texas A&M’s all-time record, set by Daylan Holt’s 56 home runs from 1998-2000.

After hitting 29 on the year, LaViolette struggled throughout the postseason due to a lingering hamstring issue. However, I expect a fully rejuvenated version of what we all saw during the regular season, as the Aggies are looking to run it back and seek revenge in the College World Series Finals.
