LSU makes 4-star 2025 cornerback’s top 9

The Tigers are turning their attention to the 2025 cycle, and they’ve made the cut for one of its top defensive players.

LSU has mostly put a bow on the 2024 recruiting class.

It features 28 signees as early signing day didn’t result in much drama for a class that sits either just inside or just outside the top 10, depending on the recruiting service.

There are still a couple more dominoes that could fall, namely five-star defensive lineman [autotag]Dominick McKinley[/autotag], who LSU continues to try to flip from conference foe Texas A&M, but the staff is beginning to turn its attention to the promising 2025 class.

The Tigers recently made the top nine for one of the best overall players in the cycle as four-star cornerback [autotag]Jaboree Antoine[/autotag] trimmed his list.

The Westgate (New Iberia) product ranks inside the top 50 nationally, and the Tigers are the favorite to land him per the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine, though Texas A&M and Georgia follow closely behind.

Joining those three teams in the top nine are Michigan, Tennessee, Alabama, Miami, Texas and Syracuse.

The Tigers have the makings of a very strong 2025 class, which On3 currently ranks fourth nationally. It features six commits, headlined by elite five-star receiver [autotag]Dakorien Moore[/autotag], the No. 4 overall player in America.

Four-star CB planning first visit to the Swamp after picking up offer

Things are moving quickly between the Florida Gators and four-star cornerback Jaboree Antoine, who just received a scholarship offer.

The newest blue-chip defensive back on Florida’s 2025 recruiting board is Westgate (New Iberia, Louisiana) cornerback [autotag]Jaboree Antoine[/autotag].

The Gators offered the rising junior a scholarship over the weekend, according to Corey Bender of Gators Online, and he has quickly set a tentative date for his first-ever visit to the Swamp. Antoine is high on UF and plans to be at the season finale against Florida State.

“Florida is one of those offers I had been waiting for,” Antoine said to Gators Online. “It’s a great program that I know for sure would develop me for the next level and get me to that next level.”

Like most defensive backs interested in the University of Florida, Antoine is developing a connection with Corey Raymond, who will coach both corners and safeties this season for Billy Napier. The two have only met twice, but Antoine’s coach is a friend of Raymond’s, which helped facilitate the offer.

Antoine is a consensus four-star talent right now that’s ranked anywhere from No. 23 to No. 56 overall in the class of 2023. The On3 industry ranking, which uses a weighted average of all four major services, puts him at No. 25 overall and No. 3 among cornerbacks in his class.

He’s also the second-best recruit out of the state of Louisiana, which means the LSU Tigers will be the team to beat. At publishing time, the Tigers lead the On3 recruiting prediction machine with a 38.9% chance to land him, but Texas A&M is also in this race with 24.1% in second place.

No. 1 Louisiana prospect in 2025 class sets another LSU visit

Jaboree Antoine will join a loaded visitors list for LSU’s Bayou Splash event.

LSU’s star-studded visitors’ list continues to grow for its Bayou Splash event later this month. Now, the Tigers know they will be hosting arguably the top prospect on their 2025 recruiting board.

Elite New Iberia (La.) Westgate cornerback [autotag]Jaboree Antoine[/autotag] will be on campus along with his teammate and 2024 LSU commit [autotag]De’Myrion Johnson[/autotag], according to On3. The five-star ranks as the No. 1 prospect in Louisiana and No. 4 cornerback in the 2025 class.

He’s also the No. 26 overall prospect nationally, according to the 247Sports Composite.

The Tigers are always going to have a leg up for Louisiana prospects, but it’s still early in Antoine’s recruitment. LSU is a slim 11.3% favorite to land him, per the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine, but he also has offers from programs like Michigan and Texas A&M. He’s also visited Alabama.

LSU currently has two players committed in the 2025 class, which ranks 14th nationally.

LSU offers 2025 Louisiana athlete Jaboree Antoine

Antoine is a lockdown cornerback who also plays quarterback at Westgate High School.

[autotag]Jaboree Antoine[/autotag] is a 6-foot-2, 180-pound athlete from the class of 2025. He is from New Iberia, Louisiana, where he plays for Westgate High School. The Westgate Tigers finished the 2022 season 10-4 with a loss to Destrehan in the Division I non-select semi-finals. There are currently no Crystal Ball projections for Antoine or favorites to land him per On3.

Film Analysis: Antoine is a lockdown corner on defense and also plays well in the safety position. If he is in man-to-man coverage, he’s got a high probability of winning the matchup. On offense for the Tigers, he is their [autotag]Jayden Daniels[/autotag]. He wears No. 5, throws darts, and makes great plays running the ball.
