LSU gaining traction with No. 3 cornerback in Louisiana after late offer

LSU is trying to rebuild its cornerback class after Jaboree Antoine’s decommitment.

LSU’s 2025 class is off to a very strong start, but it suffered a significant loss last week.

Four-star cornerback [autotag]Jaboree Antoine[/autotag], the top-ranked cornerback in the state of Louisiana, backed off his commitment to the Tigers. Since then, coach [autotag]Brian Kelly[/autotag] and the staff have been scrambling a bit to beef up the corner class once more.

To do so, they recently offered [autotag]Aidan Anding[/autotag], a three-star cornerback who ranks No. 561 nationally but is the No. 3 cornerback in the state of Louisiana, according to the 247Sports composite rankings.

Texas was trending heavily for Anding, having received multiple projections to land him this month from both 247Sports and On3. But the LSU offer on Friday seems to have changed things.

On3’s Billy Embody recently made a prediction in favor of LSU to land Anding. LSU will also hope to stay in the mix for the nation’s top cornerback DJ Pickett, who took an official visit to Baton Rouge earlier in the cycle.

LSU will hope it’s not getting in the game too late for Anding, who ranks as the No. 22 overall player in the state of Louisiana.

4-star cornerback Jaboree Antoine decommits from LSU

The Tigers’ No. 2 ranked 2025 class took a pretty big hit on Sunday night.

LSU boasts one of the top recruiting classes in the 2025 cycle, but it suffered the loss of a blue-chip commit on Sunday night.

Four-star Westgate (New Iberia) cornerback [autotag]Jaboree Antoine[/autotag] — LSU’s top defensive back pledge in the class — decommitted from the Tigers. This comes just over a week after Antoine took an official visit to Florida State.

Antoine, a 6-foot-1, 170-pound prospect, ranks as the No. 61 national recruit and No. 6 cornerback, according to the 247Sports composite. He’s also the No. 2 overall player in the state of Louisiana.

With his decommitment, LSU no longer holds any defensive back commits in the cycle.

Antoine added that he’s still considering LSU, according to On3’s Hayes Fawcett, though Miami and Florida State are also heavily in the mix.

The Tigers are still in decent shape with a 12-man class that ranks No. 2 nationally, according to On3.

Nation’s top safety DJ Pickett sets official visit this weekend with LSU

LSU will play host to one of the top players on its 2025 board this weekend.

The LSU football team is currently assembling what could be the best high school recruiting class yet under coach [autotag]Brian Kelly[/autotag] in the 2025 cycle, and it could be close to making some inroads with the top safety in the country.

On Wednesday, [autotag]DJ Pickett[/autotag] announced that he will be taking an official visit to Baton Rouge this weekend, which will begin on Friday. Pickett, a Zephyrhills (Tampa) prospect, ranks as a five-star recruit and the No. 7 player in the country by the 247Sports composite rankings, which list him as a cornerback.

There are no crystal ball projections for Pickett, but Miami is a slim favorite per On3 followed by LSU and Georgia.

[autotag]Corey Raymond[/autotag] has had some nice early returns since returning to LSU this offseason as the defensive backs coach. The Tigers currently hold just one defensive back commitment in four-star, top-150 cornerback [autotag]Jaboree Antoine[/autotag], but they find themselves in the mix for several more, including Pickett.

Four-star DB Tae Harris commits to Clemson over LSU, Georgia Tech

The Tigers missed out on a blue-chip defensive back prospect Monday.

LSU has the makings of an elite class in the 2025 recruiting cycle, but it missed on a blue-chip prospect on Monday.

Four-star Cedartown (Ga.) defensive back [autotag]Tae Harris[/autotag] committed to the Clemson Tigers over LSU and Georgia Tech, according to On3’s Hayes Fawcett. Harris is a top-200 prospect nationally in the 2025 class, with the 247Sports Composite ranking him as the 15th-best safety in the class, while On3 has him as a corner and is a bit lower on him.

“Mentally, I have known it was Clemson,” Harris told On3’s Chad Simmons. “Everywhere I would go, I would compare it to Clemson. I looked at the different schools and I would say, ‘These schools have to beat Clemson.’ Nobody beat them. They kept standing at the top. Every box is checked by Clemson.”

His decision doesn’t come as a major surprise. He had received multiple Crystal Ball projections in favor of Clemson, and now he’s set to join Dabo Swinney’s squad.

Even with Harris heading to the other Death Valley, LSU is in good shape in 2025 as its class currently ranks No. 1. It already has one cornerback commit from top-100 prospect [autotag]Jaboree Antoine[/autotag].

LSU makes top 10 for 2025 four-star cornerback

As of now, the Florida State Seminoles are way out ahead of all the other schools for Gregory Thomas.

One of the best cornerbacks in the 2025 recruiting class has narrowed his list of potential schools down to 10. LSU has made the cut. [autotag]Gregory Thomas[/autotag] is a 6-foot-2, 190-pound, four-star cornerback from Plantation, Florida.

The Tigers join Florida State, Colorado, Penn State, Texas A&M, Miami, West Virginia, Tennessee, Oklahoma and Wisconsin. As of now, the Florida State Seminoles are way out ahead of all the other schools. The Seminoles have received multiple Crystal Ball projections to land Thomas and they are also a 98% favorite to land him per On3.

LSU’s 2025 recruiting class is currently ranked as the No. 2 class in the country and currently has commitments from the No. 1 quarterback, wide receiver, and running back in the class. The Tigers are also favored to land the No. 1 interior offensive lineman in the class.

There is currently one cornerback commitment in the class in [autotag]Jaboree Antoine[/autotag]. The Tigers have been thin at the cornerback position recently but Thomas could add much-needed depth.

NEW: 3-star 2025 cornerback decommits from LSU

Jaylen Bell committed to the Tigers way back in November 2022.

LSU has had a lot of momentum on the recruiting trail for the 2025 class, which ranks first nationally per On3 and second per 247Sports, recently. But on Friday, it suffered its first decommitment of the cycle.

Three-star Grayson (Loganville, Ga.) cornerback [autotag]Jaylen Bell[/autotag] backed off his pledge to the Tigers in an announcement on Twitter/X. Bell was one of the earliest commits in the 2025 class, committing to LSU in November 2022.

“After careful consideration, prayer, and a talk with my family. I am reopening my recruitment process,” Bell wrote in the post. “Respect my decision. I am 100% open. This is God’s plan.”

Bell ranks as the No. 383 prospect nationally, per the 247Sports Composite, and he’s the No. 40 cornerback in the 2025 class. His decommitment leaves LSU’s nine-man class with one cornerback commitment from in-state blue-chipper [autotag]Jaboree Antoine[/autotag], who committed to the Tigers on Jan. 27.

BREAKING: No. 2 Louisiana 2025 prospect Jaboree Antoine commits to LSU

Jaboree Antoine didn’t take long to make his decision after visiting LSU on Saturday.

LSU added to its already loaded 2025 recruiting class on Sunday evening, securing a commitment from four-star Westgate (New Iberia) cornerback [autotag]Jaboree Antoine[/autotag].

Tigers hosting top-100 Louisiana cornerback for a visit this weekend

The Tigers will host the No. 3 prospect in the state of Louisiana on Saturday.

While LSU hasn’t officially closed the book on the 2024 signing class, the recruiting staff is beginning to turn its attention to 2025, where the Tigers currently have the nation’s No. 2 class.

It could get even better in the coming weeks and months as LSU remains in the mix for a number of top players. One of them comes from the Tigers’ backyard, and he’ll be on campus for a visit this weekend.

Four-star Westgate (New Iberia) cornerback [autotag]Jaboree Antoine[/autotag] announced on Twitter/X that he will be heading to Baton Rouge to take a visit on Saturday. He was also at LSU for an unofficial visit on Sept. 9.

Antoine currently ranks as the No. 52 player nationally and No. 3 prospect in the state of Louisiana. There are no Crystal Ball projections for him at this moment, but the Tigers are a 46.7% favorite to land him according to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine.

Alabama lands in top 9 for elite, 2025 CB Jaboree Antoine

2025 four-star cornerback Jaboree Antoine released his top schools list, including the Crimson Tide

The Alabama coaching staff tends to do a good job recruiting the state of Louisiana. It is a state that has been good to the Crimson Tide over the years.

On Christmas morning, 2025 cornerback Jaboree Antoine released his top school’s list. Among the programs listed was Alabama.

Antoine received an offer from Alabama in May and has remained in contact with the coaching staff since then.

The 6-foot-1, 170-pound cornerback is one of the premier players in the ’25 recruiting class. He has played both ways at the high school level. His versatility has translated well on both sides of the ball.

Interestingly enough, Antoine plays for Westgate High School (La.) which is the same school that Alabama tight end Danny Lewis Jr. once played for.

Roll Tide Wire breaks down Jaboree Antoine’s recruiting profile.

2025 4-Star CB out of Louisiana places Texas A&M in his Top 8

Texas A&M has made 2025 4-Star CB Jaboree Antoines’s initial Top 8 program list.

Texas A&M’s 2024 recruiting class is all but secure, as 14 players have been signed, while two high-profile prospects, including five-star athlete Terry Bussey and five-star defensive lineman Dominick McKinley, will continue to weigh their options until making their final decision on Feb. 7.

Recruiting never stops, and for Elko and his staff, it’s time to shift focus to the 2025 recruiting class to create lasting relationships going into what should be a busy summer hosting a bevy of prospects from all over the country.

While recruits begin to narrow their options, 2025 four-star cornerback Jamboree Antoine has narrowed down his options, as the incoming Westgate (LA) senior is getting a ton of attention from nearly every blue-blood program and has released his Top 8 program list, which includes Alabama, Tennessee, Georgia, Miami, LSU, Texas, Michigan, and Texas A&M.

According to 247Sports Composite, Antoine is currently positioned as the 51st-ranked player in the 2025 cycle, the 8th-ranked cornerback, and the 2nd-ranked player in Louisiana. After receiving an offer from A&M back in January, the firing of now-former head coach Jimbo Fisher has not affected his decision-making since his last visit to College Station on July 29.

Standing at 6’2″ and just over 180 pounds, Antoine’s ball-hawking traits in man coverage fit Elko’s and new defensive coordinator Jay Bateman’s system, and you can be sure that both will stay in constant contact with the ascending prospects throughout the 2024 offseason.
