Gators in the mix for blue-chip WR out of South Florida

The Florida Gators are pursuing another elite receiver out of Chaminade-Madonna Preparatory School in South Florida — top-25 recruit in the class of 2026, Jabari Brady.

Florida head coach [autotag]Billy Napier[/autotag] is big on recruiting the best players inside the Sunshine State, and the Gators are once again locking in on a five-star recruit out of Chaminade-Madonna Preparatory School in Broward County.

Wide receiver [autotag]Jabari Brady[/autotag] was a known name at Monarch High School the past few years, but his transfer to Chaminade-Madonna means he’ll be one of the offensive focuses at the national powerhouse that just produced the top recruit in the 2023 cycle — Ohio State wide receiver Jeremiah Smith.

Unlike Smith, Brady has no verbal commitments attached. That’s not to say Florida has as good of a chance to land him as any program, but flipping a verbal commitment from a top-25 player usually requires a few dominoes to fall in place.

On3’s Keith Niebuhr caught up with Brady recently to see where Florida stands with the No. 4 receiver in the class of 2026, and the verdict is “up there.”

“It’s been good — talking to Coach (David) Doeker and Coach (Billy) Gonzales,” Brady said. “They’re showing a lot of love … Their development, it shows me they do good with like especially Ricky and No. 3 (Eugene Wilson). He’s only a freshman and he’s doing good over there. Their development shows me a lot.”

Recruiting Summary

Brady is a consensus four-star recruit who is likely to receive a fifth star by each outlet once the class of 2026 becomes the primary focus. He is ranked the highest by ESPN at No. 12 overall in the class of 2026.

The On3 industry ranking, which considers all four major recruiting services, puts him at No. 22 nationally and No. 4 at his position, while the 247Sports composite has him even higher at Nos. 17 and 4, respectively. Oddly enough, the 247Sports composite considers Brady a five-star recruit.

The On3 recruiting prediction machine favors Ohio State in this race, giving the Buckeyes 33.0% odds to land Brady. Florida State is second on the list with 19.6%, Miami is third with 8.8% and Florida rounds out the list with 7.4% odds.

Florida among top schools for 5-star 2026 in-state wide receiver

This five-star South Florida talent would look great wearing orange and Blue.

Things have been a bit quiet on the college football recruiting front as of late but Billy Napier and the Florida Gators continue their never-ending grind at the prep prospect millstone.

Back in January when the program was holding one of its junior day events, one of the top pass-catching prospects in the 2026 cycle paid a visit to the Swamp. Five-star wide receiver [autotag]Jabari Brady[/autotag] out of Hollywood (Florida) Chaminade-Madonna stopped in to see what the Orange and Blue is currently cooking in one of many trips to Gainesville during the young student-athlete’s recruitment.

It appears that the 6-foot-12-inch, 190-pound high school sophomore is happy with what Napier and Co. have to offer based on his most recent visit.

“It was good going back there,” Brady told Swamp247. “Especially being around Coach (Billy) Gonzales, Coach Doek (David Doeker) and Coach (Billy) Napier. They show a lot of love to me, especially me being from Florida. They are showing a lot of love, and trying to get me to stay down here.”

As far as where the Orange and Blue stands in his recruitment, he has the school ranked high based on what it has to offer on and off the field.

“My interest is they are one of the schools at the top of my list. They really talk about things outside of football. Talk about the degree you get, scholarships you can get and things you can get away from football,” he noted.

“They are really up there for sure. I know the football side will be taken care of, but making sure that you can get all you want to get out of a school, and not just all you can get from a football team.”

Brady is ranked No. 14 overall and No. 2 at his position nationally according to the 247Sports composite while the On3 industry ranking has him at Nos. 19 and 2, respectively. On3’s Recruiting Prediction Machine has the Florida State Seminoles out front with a 25.2% chance of signing him, followed by the Ohio State Buckeyes (22.1%), Miami Hurricanes (9.9%) and Florida (8.3%).
