Arch Manning breaks Newman’s all-time touchdown record

The Texas Longhorns commit added more to his impress resume.

Arch Manning threw four touchdown passes in the 34-21 win over Country Day (La.), giving the Texas Longhorns commit 129 for his career. The total is now the most all-time in Newman (La.) football history, with Arch surpassing class of 2015 QB Jay Tyler on the list.

Manning topped uncles Eli Manning and Peyton Manning back in early October, breaking the records for pass yards (Eli) and passing touchdowns (Peyton) after an epic performance against Pearl River (La.).

Now, Arch has one more record for the mantle, which began to take shape on Friday night after this strike…

Manning hit for another score before halftime, connecting on this pass and tying the record.

The 6-foot-4 slinger landed a 40-yarder in the third quarter to Anthony Jones, giving Manning 128 career touchdowns and the all-time nod.

But Arch wasn’t done with his impressive night, adding another touchdown in the fourth quarter while also providing this highlight-reel 60-yard pass.

Not a bad Senior Night.

And there is a chance Arch isn’t done building his legendary resume at Newman — next up would be delivering a state championship, which neither Eli nor Peyton had achieved.

7 touchdowns and 356 yards later, Arch now holds the records previously held by Peyton and Eli.

Arch Manning now holds the all-time touchdown passes and passing yards records for Isidore Newman (La.), taking over the top spots held by uncles Peyton and Eli.

And he did so in epic fashion this past Friday, throwing for 356 yards and 7 touchdowns in the Greenies’ 52-22 win over Pearl River (La.).

The 5-star Texas commit has been a significant focus for several years now, with a ton of buzz generated in the early summer of 2022 as top NCAA programs attempted to add the talented QB to its future roster.

After Arch chose the Longhorns, the news cycle shifted to his senior season at Newman, and the possible records Arch could add to his impressive resume.

And the 2022 campaign has held strong, including one epic comeback against Benton (La.), where the Greenies overcame an 18-point deficit at halftime to win it 54-52.

Although the following week would be a tough loss to Many (La.), the team didn’t let that carry over to the game against Pearl River.

A historic win-win effort.

Arch Manning leads Newman in epic comeback win over Benton 54-52

The Texas Longhorn commit had himself a signature night.

After a quiet first half, Isidore Newman (La.) and top-rated quarterback Arch Manning headed to the locker room down 18 points against Benton (La.), only to rebound in the second act for a thrilling comeback win.

The zero touchdown passes in the first two quarters were a distant memory by the time the third had ended, with the Texas Longhorns commit tossing two of his four on the night to kickstart the shootout.

One of those TDs arguably now stands as Arch’s signature moment in this early part of his senior season—a doubt-erasing rollout strike on fourth and 13 to take the lead.

And if there was ever any question about his mobility, he added this rushing touchdown in the third, too…

Manning ended the night 22-of-38 passing for 317 yards and four touchdowns, leading Newman all the way back for the 54-52 win.
