Isaiah Miranda worked out for Thunder in pre-draft visit

Before he withdrew his name from the draft and transferred to Oklahoma State, Isaiah Miranda met with the Thunder in a pre-draft visit.

The 2023 NBA draft is two weeks away, which means draft prospects are touring the country and meeting with teams.

The Oklahoma City Thunder are looking at possibly adding two rookies to their roster. They own the No. 12 and No. 50 picks in the draft.

Before he withdrew from the draft, former NC State forward Isaiah Miranda worked out for the Thunder in a pre-draft visit in May, per Rookie Wire. He proceeded to remove his name from the draft pool on June 1 and transferred to Oklahoma State on June 4.

The 19-year-old did not appear in a game last season because he enrolled at NC State in December 2022. While he is no longer an option for the Thunder, it’s nice to collect early data on him as a future draft option.

The four-star recruit will stay close to the Thunder; he will play the upcoming season at Oklahoma State.

The 2023 NBA draft is scheduled for Thursday, June 22. A full list of prospects who’ve met with the Thunder can be read here.

Alabama MBB reaches out to North Carolina State transfer Isaiah Miranda

North Carolina State transfer Isaiah Miranda is receiving interest from the Alabama coaching staff.

North Carolina State transfer Isaiah Miranda has garnered quite the interest since entering his name into the transfer portal. One of the schools that recently reached out is Alabama.

Miranda was a 2023 prospect but chose to re-classify and enroll early in Raleigh. However, he did not play for the Wolfpack.

Now, the former top 50 prospect is looking for a new home. Outside of Alabama, other programs like Oklahoma State, DePaul, and Ole Miss have reached out to the talented prospect.

Miranda would likely start at center for the Crimson Tide next season. After losing Charles Bediako to the NBA Draft, the coaching staff has placed an emphasis on landing transfers in the frontcourt. With a limited number of big men available in the transfer portal, Miranda might make the most sense.

He has a lot of upside and potential to thrive in Oats’ system. Miranda is a 7-footer that can protect the rim and block shots.

There have been rumors that Miranda is working on scheduling an official visit to Alabama. A date has not been set at this time.

Roll Tide Wire will continue to follow the Alabama basketball program and its involvement in the transfer portal.

Former high-four star recruit Isaiah Miranda enters transfer portal

NC State redshirt freshman Isaiah Miranda has entered the transfer portal according to reports.

Former consensus top-50 prospect, forward Isaiah Morris has entered the transfer portal and is leaving NC State after just one year with the Wolfpack. The news was first reported by Travis Branham of 247Sports.

As a freshman at NC State, Miranda did not play in any games this past season after signing with the program mid-semester. Earlier this offseason, he had declared for the NBA draft and remains eligible for the draft but in the meantime has now entered the transfer portal.

He originally signed with NC State over USC, Georgetown, Louisville, UCLA, and Connecticut among others.

The Wolfpack this past season went 23-11 including 12-8 in conference play in their sixth season under head coach Kevin Keatts. They made the NCAA Tournament for the second time in the Keatts era as well, making it in as a No. 11 seed where they lost to No. 6 Creighton in the first round.

Despite Miranda’s departure, NC State should be just fine in the frontcourt next fall, as they added Clemson’s Ben Middlebrooks and Missouri’s Mohamed Diarra to the transfer portal this offseason.

Notably, the Wolfpack are also set to return beloved big man DJ Burns to their roster for next season. The 6-foot-9, 260-pound forward/center averaged 12.5 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 1.5 assists for NC State this past season.
