Tennessee Titans announce BetMGM as first Official Sports Betting Partner

The Tennessee Titans have reached a deal with BetMGM in Tennessee, the first ever deal between a professional sports team and a sportsbook in the state.

The Tennessee Titans announced Monday, Sept. 28, that BetMGM, a joint venture between MGM Resorts International and GVC Holdings, is the club’s first Official Sports Betting Partner.

The announcement is the state’s first official partnership between a professional sports team and a sports betting platform. BetMGM recently received a conditional license to offer legal, online sports betting in Tennessee. Pending regulatory approval, BetMGM’s mobile app is scheduled to go live in Tennessee November 1, when online sports betting is scheduled to launch.

“We are thrilled to bring BetMGM to the state of Tennessee,” said Gil Beverly, Titans Sr. Vice President, Chief Marketing and Revenue Officer. “BetMGM will deliver new experiences and levels of engagement to our fans and we’re excited to welcome them in as an official partner.”

BetMGM, The King of Sportsbooks, will receive brand visibility across multiple Titans digital assets as an official betting partner as well as key in-game moments, such as field goal attempts, video board replays and more.

In addition, BetMGM will become the exclusive naming rights partner of the Titans’ television studio at Saint Thomas Sports Park. A soon-to-be-announced Titans raffle benefiting The Titans Foundation will be sponsored by BetMGM; the foundation directs funds to community organizations across the state of Tennessee.

BetMGM’s Chief Marketing Officer Matt Prevost said, “The Titans are an incredible organization and we’re proud to have BetMGM as the team’s first official sports betting partner. This is truly a partnership between two great brands and we’re excited to introduce Titans fans to new ways to engage with their favorite football team.”

BetMGM’s sports betting app is available for download in seven states currently, including Colorado, Indiana, New Jersey and West Virginia, on both iOS and Android.

The partnership between the Titans and BetMGM was sourced and supported by SPORTFIVE and Sportradar, which were both key to the agreement’s development and completion.

Tennessee sports betting: Is legal sports betting available in Tennessee?

Is sports betting legal in Tennessee? We look at the latest information.

Yes, sports betting in Tennessee is legal, but not available yet.

Republican Governor Bill Lee let a sports wagering bill become state law despite the fact he did not sign the bill. He said he allowed the bill to become law because it did not include casino gambling expansion or any other gambling expansion.

Tennessee passed H001, a mobile sports betting bill which allows the Volunteer State to collect revenue from domestic mobile sports betting.

From Nashville’s WRKN.com, “The rules still need the lottery board’s approval at a yet-to-be-scheduled meeting. Then the lottery would begin taking applications for companies looking to run online sportsbooks in the state, among other entities seeking licenses to get involved at various levels.”

Betting on the state’s college teams will be permitted, but in-game play – or “Live” bets – on collegiate events will not.

Online sportsbooks in Tennessee

None – at the moment.

Tennessee residents are permitted to use mobile sportsbooks to use official league data for wagering. However, there are no mobile or online betting sites available yet. A major sticking point has been a “parlay” rule. If one selection in the parlay ends in a tie, most books consider that a push, allowing the bettor to win the next-lowest level parlay payoff (Ex: A 4-team parlay that is 3-0-1 will pay as a 3-teamer). However, Tennessee wants a parlay that includes a tie to be a losing bet.

Retail sportsbooks in Tennessee

None.

In the meantime, if Vols want to get their gambling fix, in the eastern part of the state they can take a ride through the Smoky Mountains to Cherokee, N.C. In the western part of the state they can head across the Mississippi River to nearby West Memphis, Ark.
