Sports betting was passed in the state by a voter referendum back in November 2018 when more than 54 percent of the vote approving Issue 4 on the ballot. Not only did it in include sports betting, but it also approved casino-style gambling at four locations around the Natural State.

The state legislature passed the bill and the governor passed it into law. On July 4, 2019 at 3:06 a.m., single-game sports wagering officially kicked off.

Retail sportsbooks in Arkansas

There are four locations where sportsbooks at domestic casinos has been approved, including a racing casino near Hot Springs which took the first-ever single-game sports wager in July 2019. Two other sportsbooks in Pine Bluff and West Memphis have also started accepting wagers. A fourth approved book is still to be announced.
