Alabama baseball lands transfer infielder Max Grant

Canisius transfer Max Grant announced that he was transferring to Alabama on Monday via X, formerly known as Twitter.

Grant spent three seasons with the Griffins. He was used primarily as an infielder that was spread all across the diamond, including a few stints as a catcher. Grant’s average fielding percentage over three seasons was .971.

Grant was very productive at the plate for the Griffins. In 2021, he held a .386 batting average. In 2022, Grant finished the season with an impressive .398 batting average with 10 home runs and 53 runs batted in. He was the team’s leader in OPS (1.135), on base percentage (.489), and hits (90).

In 2023, Grant continued the offensive success. He hit two runs while driving in 28 runs. Another interesting statistic that Grant achieved was finishing 15-15 in stolen base attempts.

Thus far, Alabama head coach Rob Vaughn has brought in five transfers. Rutgers transfer outfielder Evan Sleight, Maryland transfer outfielder Ian Petrutz, Wofford transfer outfielder Coulson Buchanan, Ole Miss transfer outfielder TJ McCants, and Ole Miss transfer catcher Will Plattner.

Alabama junior infielder Bryce Eblin has entered the NCAA transfer portal. Eblin spent three seasons playing for the Crimson Tide.

Alabama junior infielder Bryce Eblin has entered the transfer portal, according to Kendall Rogers of D1Baseball. Eblin spent three seasons playing for the Crimson Tide.

Over the course of his Alabama career, Eblin played multiple different positions in the infield. He was utilized as a second baseman, third baseman, and shortstop.

Eblin had a .264 career batting average with the Tide. He hit four home runs and drove in 47 runs. Eblin started in 76 of the 104 games that he played in at Alabama.

Eblin was just one of the players that entered the transfer portal on Wednesday. The other was freshman third baseman Colby Shelton. Both were key players in the infield during the 2023 season.
