Indiana Pacers at Cleveland Cavaliers odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Sunday’s Indiana Pacers at Cleveland Cavaliers odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Cleveland Cavaliers (32-21) host the Indiana Pacers (19-35) Sunday at the Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse. The tip-off is scheduled for 6 p.m. ET. Below, we look at the Pacers vs. Cavaliers odds and lines, and make our expert NBA picks, predictions and bets.

Indiana has lost three of its past four, including back-to-back home games versus the Orlando Magic (119-118 Wednesday) and Chicago Bulls (122-115 Friday). Over the past two weeks, the Pacers are 2-5 straight up (SU) and 2-4-1 against the spread (ATS).

Cleveland has alternated between winning and losing over the past five games with the most recent being a 102-101 victory versus the Hornets in Charlotte. The Cavs are 4-2 SU but just 2-4 ATS in the last 14 days.

The Cavs defeated the Pacers 108-104 in Cleveland, Jan. 2, and pushed as 4-point home favorites with the Over cashing on a 207.5-point total.

Pacers at Cavaliers odds, lines, picks and predictions

Prediction

Cavaliers 108, Pacers 101

Money line

PASS.

I only “lean” to Cleveland laying points and cannot justify betting the Cavaliers (-230) given the uncertainty surrounding both teams’ injury reports.

Against the spread

“LEAN” to the CAVALIERS -5.5 (-108) because the Pacers +5.5 (-112) struggle against quality defenses, and Cleveland is third in defensive rating.

For instance, Indiana has a minus-7.7 adjusted net rating versus top-10 defenses (ranked 23rd) and a minus-4.1 ATS margin (ranked 23rd), according to CleaningTheGlass.com (CTG).

Furthermore, the Cavs are 15-9-1 ATS at home with an NBA-best plus-5.1 ATS margin while the Pacers are 11-13-2 ATS on the road and 3-7 ATS versus Central Division co-tenants.

Lastly, both teams attempt a lot of shots at the rim and attack the paint. But, Cleveland has a better offensive and defensive field goal percentage at the rim (per CTG), and Indiana is 26th in paint points per game allowed.

It’s only a “LEAN” to the CAVALIERS -5.5 (-108) because Cleveland is 0-6 ATS in the last six games as a favorite.

Over/Under

“LEAN” to the UNDER 216.5 (-112) for several reasons.

First of all, the Cavs are 7-17-1 O/U at home with a minus-4.1 total margin and the Pacers are 6-12 O/U as a road underdog with a minus-3.8 total margin.

Second, roughly two-thirds of the public is betting the Over (according to Pregame.com), and my instinct is to fade a one-sided betting market.

Also, each team could be without significant offensive pieces, and even if said players return, it might take them a few quarters or games to knock off rust.

That said, Indiana hasn’t been able to defend anyone recently, which is the major reason the Pacers are 6-0-1 O/U in their last seven games.

Indiana Pacers at Oklahoma City Thunder odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Friday’s Indiana Pacers at Oklahoma City Thunder odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Oklahoma City Thunder (14-33) host the Indiana Pacers (17-32) Friday at the Paycom Center for an 8 p.m. ET tip-off. Below, we look at the Pacers vs. Thunder odds and lines, and make our expert NBA picks, predictions and bets.

Indiana lost its third straight game in a 158-126 beatdown at home administered by the Charlotte Hornets Wednesday. The Pacers are 2-5 straight-up (SU) and 3-3-1 against the spread (ATS) over the past two weeks.

OKC rallied back from a 28-point deficit to push as a 1-point home underdog in a 111-110 loss to the Chicago Bulls Monday. Since Jan. 15, the Thunder are 0-6 SU and 2-2-2 ATS.

Pacers at Thunder odds, lines, picks and predictions

Prediction

Thunder 111, Pacers 105

Money line

SPRINKLE on the THUNDER (-103) because the Pacers are missing their best two defensive guards in Brogdon and McConnell.

Oklahoma City PG Shai Gilgeous-Alexander will be the best player on the floor Friday. He should have his way against an Indiana team that ranks 23rd in adjusted-defensive rating, according to CleaningTheGlass.com (CTG).

The Thunder chuck the eighth-most 3-pointers per game and the Pacers are 21st in defensive 3-point shooting percentage. OKC’s 3-point defense is slightly below-average, but Indiana is 21st in 3-point percentage.

I prefer OKC plus the points, but the THUNDER (-103) are the right side in this one.

Against the spread

BET 1 unit on the THUNDER +1.5 (-115) as this is an awesome spot for them for a bunch of trendy reasons.

OKC is 16-6 ATS versus teams below-.500 (7-2 at home) and 5-2-2 ATS in its last nine games.

The Thunder are 7-2-1 ATS in their last 10 home games and ninth in ATS margin versus bottom-10 teams by adjusted-net rating (plus-3.6).

While the Thunder are bad, they are healthy, better rested and last played Monday, while the Pacers last played Wednesday. Well, OKC is 6-3-2 ATS when playing with a rest advantage (plus-3.4 ATS margin).

If Sabonis plays Friday, then Indiana will be a bigger favorite. The Pacers are an NBA-worst 0-7 ATS as road favorites with a minus-11.5 ATS margin.

Finally, this THUNDER +1.5 (-115) BET is also a fade against the Pacers, who are 3-6-1 ATS versus teams below-.500 on the road.

Over/Under

PASS with a slight “lean” to the Under 219.5 (-112).

Both teams play at a below-average pace with below-average, effective field-goal shooting.

The Thunder are 3-8 O/U with a rest advantage and 10-13 O/U at home while the Pacers are 9-15 O/U on the road.

However, neither team plays good defense, both have a high 3-point attempt rate and my prediction isn’t much below the projected total.

Minnesota Timberwolves at Indiana Pacers odds, picks and prediction

Previewing Wednesday’s Minnesota Timberwolves at Indiana Pacers NBA odds and lines, with basketball picks, tips and predictions.

The Indiana Pacers (22-27) host the Minnesota Timberwolves (13-38) Wednesday at Bankers Life Fieldhouse for a 7 p.m. ET tip-off. Below, we analyze the Timberwolves-Pacers odds and lines, with NBA picks and predictions.

Minnesota ended a two-game skid by beating the Sacramento Kings 116-106 as a 3.5-point home underdog Monday. Over the past two weeks, the Timberwolves are just 3-4 straight up but they covered the spread in five of those seven games.

Indiana was crushed 113-97 by the Chicago Bulls Tuesday as a 2-point home underdog but was without PG Malcolm Brogdon and All-Star PF Domantas Sabonis. The Pacers are just 2-4 straight up and against the spread in their last six games.

The Pacers have beaten the T-Wolves in four straight meetings while going 3-1 ATS, including a 134-128 win Feb. 17.

Timberwolves at Pacers: Odds, lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Timberwolves 115, Pacers 107

Money line (ML)

Not only should the TIMBERWOLVES (+110) have covered against the Pacers earlier this season but they could’ve easily won that game. They coughed up a 10-point fourth-quarter lead and Indiana needed overtime to cover the 5.5-point spread by only a half-point.

While Minnesota will be without its leading scorer from that game in Beasley, Russell should be in the lineup and his skill set fits nicely in the backcourt with PG Ricky Rubio.

Speaking of “loss of production”, the Pacers could be without their top-two scorers and rebounders and top assist man. Sabonis had a 36-16-10 triple-double and Brogdon nearly had a triple-double with 32-9-7 in the first meeting with the T-Wolves.

Judging by the current pricing of Timberwolves-Pacers, it would appear at least two of Indiana’s three questionable starters will miss this meeting.

The possible frontcourt absences are the most troubling, considering T-Wolves C Karl-Anthony Towns has dominated the Pacers in his career.

“LEAN” to the TIMBERWOLVES (+110) for a half-unit until we see the final injury report.

Play our new free daily Pick’em Challenge and win! Play now!

Against the spread (ATS)

PASS unless Indiana gets good injury luck and Minnesota gets 3 or more points then I’d take the points with the Wolves.

Over/Under (O/U)

The UNDER 231.5 (-110) is my favorite play in Timberwolves-Pacers because I don’t see where all these points are coming from.

KAT will probably have a monster game and Pacers SG Caris LeVert is due for a big scoring night.

If the three Pacers listed as “questionable” on the injury report are out, combined with Beasley’s absence, there will be 107 points missing between both teams.

Also, Minnesota’s defense has shown up recently; the Wolves held the Brooklyn Nets to only 112 points March 29 and have played to the Under in seven of their last 10 games.
