Auburn target Husan Longstreet sets commitment date

The four-star QB will choose between Auburn and seven other programs next month.

One of the nation’s top quarterbacks from the 2025 recruiting cycle is counting down the days until he announces his college destination and Auburn is among the eight programs still in the running.

According to Hayes Fawcett of On3, four-star quarterback [autotag]Husan Longstreet[/autotag] will choose between Auburn, Oregon, UCLA, Michigan, Texas A&M, Miami, Ole Miss, and Louisville on April 14.

Auburn joined Longstreet’s recruitment journey late but has skyrocketed in value. [autotag]Hugh Freeze[/autotag] and company offered Longstreet late last year, which caused Longstreet to schedule a spring visit to the Plains.

According to On3’s Recruiting Machine, Texas A&M is the school to beat for Longstreet’s commitment as they hold a 98% chance to land him. Steve Wiltfong and Andrew Hattersley of 247Sports shares the same sentiment as On3 regarding Longstreet’s possible college destination, as they have submitted Crystal Ball predictions in favor of Mike Elko and the Aggies.

Freeze and the rest of his staff have the chance to change Longstreet’s recruitment journey by hosting him for a visit on March 23.

Michigan football 2025 QB target sets commitment date

Will #Michigan take two quarterbacks this cycle? #GoBlue

Michigan football missed on its top overall 2025 target, Belleville (Michigan) five-star quarterback Bryce Underwood, who pledged to LSU in early January. But the Wolverines lucked out: Fort Myers (Florida) Bishop Verot quarterback Carter Smith, who committed in November 2023, moved up from a three-star to a four-star, rated highest at No. 60 overall by Rivals.

But the maize and blue have kept their eyes and ears open for other signal callers. One such quarterback has shared when he plans to pick his school of choice.

Another four-star, and hailing from Corona (California) Centennial, Husan Longstreet is rated No. 53 in the country according to 247Sports’ proprietary rankings and No. 94 on the 247Sports composite. He plans to make his commitment on April 14.

Also in contention are Oregon, UCLA, Auburn, Louisville, Ole Miss, Texas A&M and Miami (Florida).

According to 247Sports’ Greg Biggins:

Longstreet has one of the strongest arms out West and one of the quicker releases to go with it. He generates a ton of velocity with little effort and is able to easily throw from different arm angles and is equally comfortable rolling out and throwing right or left. He has big hands and spins the football as consistently as anyone. He’s an improving athlete and uses his legs as a junior a lot more than his first two years of high school ball and looked very comfortable in zone read situations. He’s accurate to the show and intermediate levels of the field but can continue to improve his touch on the deeper throws down the field. He’s a very likable kid, a natural leader and a great teammate. He has a strong off the field work ethic and projects as a Power 5 starter with the talent to play for any school in the country.

Whether or not Michigan continues to have him as a take or not remains to be seen, but he doesn’t appear to be scared of competition given that he has the Wolverines in his top group, despite the pledge of the aforementioned Carter Smith.

As of yet, there are no predictions as to which school he will eventually choose.

Elite 2025 QB Husan Longstreet wants to visit Auburn

Auburn is looking to pluck another talented player from all the way across the country in quarterback Husan Longstreet.

Auburn already has its quarterback in the 2024 recruiting cycle in four-star prospect [autotag]Walker White[/autotag]. This has freed up [autotag]Hugh Freeze[/autotag] and the rest of the staff to start putting in the work to land their 2025 quarterback.

A player who has emerged as a key target is [autotag]Husan Longstreet[/autotag], who is from Corona, California. While Auburn hasn’t offered him yet, he recently told Gregg Biggins of 247Sports that they are one of the schools recruiting him the hardest.

“They haven’t offered but they are recruiting me hard,” Longstreet said. “I think they just want to see me in person first so I’m hoping to get out there and I do have interest.”

Longstreet is the No. 87 overall player and No. 7 quarterback in the 247Sports composite ranking. He is also the No. 11 player from California.

Despite not having an offer, Longstreet revealed that Auburn is one of several schools he wants to visit for a game this season, along with Louisville, Washington and Michigan.

While California is well outside Auburn’s normal recruiting footprint, they recently landed a commitment from four-star offensive lineman [autotag]DeAandre Carter[/autotag] and the Tigers are showing they are willing to go wherever the best players are.

A top 2025 QB set to visit Michigan on Wednesday

This is a good visit for Michigan!

Michigan football is set at the quarterback position in the 2024 recruiting class. The Wolverines have five-star Jadyn Davis and he has been a big part in recruiting players to come play with him in Ann Arbor.

But, in order to always feel safe at arguably the most important position in college football, you need to have signal callers in every recruiting class.

Michigan is going in hard for 2025 five-star Bryce Underwood who is the No. 1 QB and the No. 3 prospect in the 2025 cycle. But in case the Belleville (Michigan) prospect chooses to not go to Michigan, the Wolverines need other options at the position.

2025 four-star quarterback Husan Longstreet announced on Twitter he would be visiting Michigan on May 31. Longstreet will be seeing Ohio State the day before and will also be visiting LSU on June 2.

According to 247Sports Composite, the 6-foot-2 quarterback is the 147th-ranked recruit in 2025 and the No. 8 quarterback in the cycle.

247Sports, itself, is a little higher on Longstreet than what the Composite says. According to the recruiting site, he is a top-50 recruit and the third-best QB in 2025.

Longstreet hails from Corona (California) Centennial. It appears Michigan has not offered him yet, but we would assume the offer is coming when Longstreet visits Michigan on Wednesday. Here are the notable offers Longstreet holds so far: Colorado, Florida State, Miami, Minnesota, Ole Miss, Oregon, Pittsburgh, UCLA, Washington, and others.
