Malik Willis breaks Liberty record for touchdowns, rushing yards in a season

Malik Willis has now broken two school records as Liberty battles Coastal Carolina in the Cure Bowl.

Malik Willis has been one of the breakout stars of the 2020 college football season, leading Liberty to a 9-1 regular season record while putting 20 passing touchdowns and 10 rushing touchdowns in those 10 games.

After scoring three more rushing touchdowns in the ongoing Cure Bowl against Coastal Carolina, the former Auburn quarterback now holds the Flames’ record for most touchdowns responsible for in a season at 33. He also broke the record for rushing yards in a season for a Liberty player with 855. Both records were held by Mike Brown, who is now the wide receivers coach at Cincinnati.

Willis is making the Coastal Carolina defense look like total chumps in the first quarter of the Cure Bowl, already accounting for 101 yards and two touchdowns in the first 15 minutes.

After scoring a rushing touchdown on Liberty’s first drive, the former Auburn quarterback took it in again, bulldozing some Chanticleers on his way to the end zone.
