After a tough run, the Hoosiers (15-9, 6-7) came out firing on all cylinders Thursday, beating the Iowa Hawkeyes 89-77 after outscoring them 49-34 in the first half. Indiana had four players score in double digits, including Devonte Green with a team-high 27 points. Indiana made a season-high 11 three-pointers, with Green accounting for seven. Indiana extended its lead to as many as 20 points and kept the lead at double digits the entire second half.
In arguably their worst loss of the season, the Wolverines (15-9, 6-7) were trounced by the Northwestern Wildcats, who are last in the Big Ten standings with a record of 1-12, along with an overall record of 6-17. It wasn’t just a loss to an inferior opponent. Michigan lost 79-54. Isiah Livers did score 17 points and Eli Brooks scored 18 points, but they were the only two players who scored in double digits. The best Michigan can do is move on and put its attention on the Hoosiers.
