Heardle hilariously got players with a perfect April Fools’ Day prank

Got ’em.

Look, like any other journalist on the internet, I’m not a fan of April Fools’ Day and all the pranks that come with it.

But I’ll admit: This one is actually great.

It’s from Heardle, the musical version of Wordle that gives you a snippet of an audio clue and you have six guesses to figure out what it is.

On Friday morning, users were greeted with a message: Today’s song to guess was unable to load, so if you wanted it spoiled, you could click on a link to hear it.

That song? Well, let’s just say it’s a classic internet prank:

Another day, another new take on Wordle.

This time? It’s Heardle, which is all about guessing music.

Here’s how it works: You have six guesses to nail an audio clue from a song. The clue is one second long to start. If you miss it, you get another second of the intro revealed and so on. You do get a little assistance from the game in that it auto-fills the songs it could possibly be as you type.
