The Kentucky football season is Hayes Johnson (72) days away

Offensive lineman Hayes Johnson could be a key player in the future for Kentucky football.

The offensive line for Kentucky football is going to be a big key to the 2024 season, and with all good lines, depth is important. One of the up and coming backups on next year’s squad is Freshman tackle Hayes Johnson.

Johnson was a a three star recruit in last year’s recruiting class according to 247sports. They had him as the 67th ranked tackle, and the 11th player from the state of Kentucky. He chose the Wildcats over offers from Baylor, Louisville, and the Tennessee Volunteers.

The question with Johnson is whether or not he’ll take a redshirt season in 2024. With a lot of veteran players in front of him, there’s a good chance he does, which would mean he’d begin his college career in 2025 instead.

Mark Stoops and his staff place a priority on building the line, and getting players with potential, like Johnson does, is a big deal. He could play big dividends down the line.
