Hawaii at Oregon odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s Hawaii at Oregon odds and lines, with college football expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

The Hawaii Rainbow Warriors (1-2) visit the No. 13 Oregon Ducks (2-0) on Saturday. Kick from Autzen Stadium is scheduled for 8 p.m. ET (Pac-12 Network). Below, we analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Hawaii vs. Oregon odds, and make our expert college football picks and predictions.

Hawaii finally got in the win column with a 31-20 victory over Albany last Saturday as a 7.5-point favorite. QB Brayden Schager threw 4 touchdowns but also had 3 interceptions along with a 57.5% completion rate. WRs Pofele Ashlock and Steven McBride both had standout performances with Ashlock having 4 receptions for 74 yards and McBride hauling in 7 receptions for 72 yards and 2 TDs.

Oregon took down Texas Tech 38-30 last Saturday as a 4.5-point favorite. QB Bo Nix threw for 359 yards and 2 TDs while also rushing the ball 9 times for 46 yards in the victory. The Ducks entered the 4th quarter down 27-18 but put up a whopping 20 points to rally for the win.

Oregon is No. 13 in the US LBM Coaches Poll powered by USA TODAY Sports.

Hawaii at Oregon picks and predictions

Prediction

Oregon 51, Hawaii 17

Moneyline

The moneyline was OTB at the time of publication but would not be worth pursuing even if it were available.

Against the spread

BET HAWAII +38.5 (-115).

While Oregon’s offense has showcased flashes of brilliance, like scoring 81 points in its first game and having a 20-point quarter to close out last week, Hawaii has shown it is more than capable of finding the end zone as well.

The Rainbow Warriors have scored at least 20 points in each of their first 3 games and if they are able to put the ball in the end zone even twice, they will have a great chance to cover this huge line.

Over/Under

LEAN UNDER 68.5 (-105).

Whether the Over or Under hits will be largely dependent on which Ducks offense comes out of the tunnel. If it is the Week 1 offense that put up 81 points and was firing on all cylinders, this game could get out of hand quickly and cash the Over quickly. However, Hawaii could prove to be more of a challenge to Oregon, like Texas Tech was last week, meaning a tougher defensive battle and an Under payday.

Stanford at Hawaii odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Friday’s Stanford at Hawaii odds and lines, with college football expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

The Stanford Cardinal (0-0) open their season in the islands against the Hawaii Rainbow Warriors (0-1) Friday at Clarence T.C. Ching Athletics Complex in Honolulu. Kickoff is scheduled for 11 p.m. ET (CBS Sports Network). Below, we analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Stanford at Hawaii odds, and make our expert college football picks and predictions.

The Cardinal open the post-David Shaw era in paradise, taking on the Rainbow Warriors. Coach Troy Taylor takes over at Stanford after having plenty of success (30-8) at FCS Sacramento State. While Stanford has just 5 starters returning, the cupboard isn’t totally bare with RB E.J. Smith and TE Benjamin Yurosek to provide a steadying veteran presence.

The Rainbow Warriors played in Week 0 last Saturday, falling 35-28 on the road against the Vanderbilt Commodores in an entertaining game. Hawaii easily covered the 17-point number, and the Over (55) comfortably cashed as well.

Hawaii posted 351 passing yards, but it was mostly bottled up in the run game with 40 yards on 25 carries. The Rainbow Warriors defense did a good job limiting Vandy to just 39 rushing yards on 26 attempts. QB Brayden Schager was solid, completing 27-of-35 passes for 351 yards, 3 TD and 2 INT.

Stanford at Hawaii picks and predictions

Prediction

Stanford 32, Hawaii 29

Moneyline

There are a lot of unknowns with STANFORD (-165), especially under center. Taylor has not yet announced whether QBs Ashton Daniels, Justin Lamson or Ari Patu will start. It could be a combination of 2, or even all 3.

What is known is that Smith is a very good downhill runner, and while Hawaii (+140) thwarted Vandy’s run game last week, it will have its hands full with Smith. And Yurosek is one of the better tight ends in the nation, while Stanford also employs one of the top kickers in the country in Joshua Karty.

The Cardinal have more difference makers, and enough to get it done in Taylor’s debut.

Against the spread

HAWAII +3.5 (-110) has the passing game to hang in there, as Schager can really sling it. And the Rainbow Warriors will try to take advantage of a retooled Cardinal defense. The Warriors fought hard on the mainland in a narrow loss at Vandy, covering, and while I think the Cardinal get it done, the Warriors should get the backdoor cover on Saturday.

Over/Under

OVER 57.5 (-110) is the lean, as Hawaii showed tremendous ability to being able to move the ball last week through the air.

On the flip side, Hawaii didn’t show a lot of resistance against the pass, and whomever emerges under center for Stanford should be able to move the ball up and down the field.

UC Riverside at Hawaii odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Thursday’s UC Riverside at Hawaii odds and lines, with college basketball expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The UC Riverside Highlanders (19-10, 12-5 Big West) and Hawaii Rainbow Warriors (20-8, 11-5) meet Thursday at SimpliFi Arena at the Stan Sheriff Center in Honolulu. Tip-off is scheduled for 11:59 p.m. ET (ESPN+). Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook’s lines around the UC Riverside vs. Hawaii game odds, and make our expert college basketball picks, predictions and bets.

Riverside takes a trip to the islands with 3 consecutive wins and covers in tow. The Highlanders have been hot lately, but they lost 67-63 on their home floor Jan. 21 against the Rainbow Warriors, failing to cover as 2.5-point favorites as the Under cashed.

Hawaii has won and covered 2 in a row, and 4 of the past 5 games. The Rainbow Warriors haven’t won and covered 3 in a row since Dec. 11-24. The Under has cashed in 3 straight for Hawaii, too.

UC Riverside at Hawaii picks and predictions

Hawaii 70, UC Riverside 67

Moneyline

The money line was Off the Board (OTB) at the time of publishing, but Hawaii wouldn’t be worth pursuing anyway in what should be a close conference contest.

AVOID.

Stream select live college basketball games and full replays: Get ESPN+

Against the spread

UC RIVERSIDE +3.5 (-110) is the lean, but play it ever so slightly.

The Highlanders are a solid 4-1 ATS in the past 5 games overall, while cashing in 6 of the previous 8 outings against teams with a winning overall record.

The Rainbow Warriors have failed to cover in the past 5 home games, while going 1-7 ATS in the past 8 after a straight-up win, and 1-6 ATS in the past 78 following a cover. Hawaii is also a dismal 2-6 ATS in the past 8 against winning teams.

Over/Under

OVER 131.5 (-105) might be the best play in this Big West battle.

The Over is 26-10 in the past 36 games overall for Riverside, while cashing in 4 of the past 5 outings on the road.

The Over is 4-1 in the past 5 games for Hawaii against teams with an overall winning percentage of .600 or more.

UC Santa Barbara at Hawaii odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Thursday’s UC Santa Barbara at Hawaii odds and lines, with college basketball expert picks & predictions.

The UC Santa Barbara Gauchos (16-3, 7-1 Big West) and Hawaii Rainbow Warriors (15-5, 6-2) clash in a battle of 2 squads residing in the top-third of the Big West standings. The contest at the Stan Sheriff Center in Honolulu will tip off at 11:59 p.m. ET. Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook’s lines around the UC Santa Barbara vs. Hawaii odds, and make our expert college basketball picks, predictions and bets.

UCSB has won 3-consecutive games straight up and against the spread, and the Gauchos are 12-5 ATS overall. The Big West’s 1st-place team has allowed just 110 points over its last 2 games combined. Santa Barbara’s defensive scoring average is 61.8 points per game; only Hawaii (61.2 PPG) has been better in the Big West.

Hawaii split a pair of games with the Gauchos last season, but the Rainbow Warriors are just 1-4 across their last 5 games against UCSB. That stretch includes a pair of losses in Honolulu. At home this season, UH is 10-2; among the 10 wins is a victory over KenPom top-75 Washington State (62-51) Dec. 23.

UC Santa Barbara at Hawaii picks and predictions

Prediction

UC Santa Barbara 66, Hawaii 64

Moneyline

Cal-Santa Barbara is playing solid basketball of late. The Gauchos do a good job in generating a lot of quality looks in close, and they have their offense humming along nicely in recent games.

UCSB has a veteran core that has made the voyage to UH before. Give the Gauchos an edge in the turnover battle and a legit chance to take this one outright.

TAKE UC SANTA BARBARA -105.

Against the spread

PASS … and avoid the extra dose of juice for the 1 point of cushion.

Over/Under

Both teams play at bottom-third tempos, but there is some zag lean here. Their schedules — while not top shelf by any means — have both tilted toward better defensive teams so far.

UCSB has some offensive numbers on the upswing, and the game figures to have enough transition and foul-line points to tilt the scale toward a loftier score.

Consider a partial-unit play on the OVER 127.5 (-110).

SMU at Hawaii odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Sunday’s SMU at Hawaii odds and lines, with college basketball expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The SMU Mustangs (5-7) and Hawaii Rainbow Warriors (8-3) meet in the Diamond Head Classic title game Sunday at 8:30 p.m. ET (ESPN2). Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook’s lines around the SMU at Hawaii odds, and make our expert college basketball picks, predictions and bets.

SMU, as a 12-point underdog to Utah State, beat the Aggies 77-74 Friday. The Mustangs average only 69.2 points per game (254th in the nation). They really count on their defense, which they’ll need with the Warriors having the home-court advantage.

Hawaii won 62-51 as a 2.5-point underdog against Washington State to get here. Hawaii does not have a potent offense, scoring just 69.8 PPG to rank 238th in nation. But it does boast the nation’s No. 22 defense, allowing 60.5 PPG.

SMU at Hawaii picks and predictions

Prediction

Hawaii 66, SMU 61

Moneyline

PASS.

Hawaii (-220) should win this game, but the price is not worth the risk.

Against the spread

BET HAWAII -4.5 (-115).

While the offense of Hawaii is not great, neither is SMU’s offense. The defense of Hawaii is where the difference will be in this game. The Rainbow Warriors allow only 60.5 PPG. This will allow them to hold down the Mustangs.

Over/Under

BET UNDER 134.5 (-105).

Hawaii’s highly-ranked defense will hold SMU down enough to keep this game Under. Even in its victory over Washington State, Hawaii only managed 62 points. This game will be played in the 60’s and the number should hit. I do not see this game getting out of hand in any manner, so I like the Under 134.5 (-105) as the play.

Hawaii at Colorado State odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s Hawaii Rainbow Warriors at Colorado State Rams odds and lines, with college football expert picks and predictions.

The Hawaii Rainbow Warriors (2-5, 1-1 Mountain West) and Colorado State Rams (1-5, 1-1) lock horns Saturday. Kickoff at Canvas Stadium in Fort Collins is scheduled for 4 p.m. ET. Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook‘s lines around the Hawaii vs. Colorado State odds, and make our expert college football picks and predictions.

Hawaii clocked a 31-16 over Nevada at home last Saturday. A Warriors team that ranks 12th in MWC scoring defense (37.0 points allowed per game) has only allowed a combined 32 points over the last 2 weeks. UH held the Wolfpack to just 277 total yards and a 3-of-13 performance on 3rd downs.

The Rams lost 17-13 to Utah State last Saturday. The Aggies controlled the game with 252 rushing yards and held Colorado State to a 2-of-15 mark on 3rd downs. CSU has converted 3rd downs at a paltry 16.9% rate for the season; that ranks 131st and last in FBS.

Hawaii at Colorado State picks and predictions

Prediction

Hawaii 28, Colorado State 24

Moneyline

This play is muddied by too much juice: PASS.

Against the spread

CSU QB Clay Millen is questionable with a shoulder problem. The Rams have played close games the last 2 weeks against Utah State and Nevada, but in those games, the Aggies and Wolfpack were statistically superior. Peg Colorado State as being closer to the team that was outscored 164-43 over its first 4 games.

When UH has the football against a weak Rams’ run defense we can expect senior RB Dedrick Parson to pick up where he left off last week. Parson rushed for 136 yards last week and has tallied multiple touchdowns in 3 of the Warriors’ last 4 games.

In a game that figures as a near pick ’em, TAKE HAWAII +5.5 (-112).

Over/Under

The Over has hit in 6 straight UH-CSU meetings. With the offenses both sides bring in, the total sits much lower than in recent meetings (53.5 last year, for example).

However, this is a case of something’s-gotta-give for 2 teams that have been undone in turnovers (both are minus-4 on the season) and unsuccessful in red-zone play at both ends.

Look for the offenses to be a bit tilted into throw mode and for a total in the low 50s. BET THE OVER 46.5 (-112).

Hawaii at Michigan odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s Hawaii at Michigan odds and lines, with college football expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Hawaii Rainbow Warriors (0-2) and Michigan Wolverines (1-0) meet Saturday at Michigan Stadium in Ann Arbor. Kickoff is scheduled for 8 p.m. ET (Big Ten Network). Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook‘s lines around the Hawaii vs. Michigan odds, and make our expert college football picks and predictions.

The Rainbow Warriors have not only lost each of their first 2 games at home, but they’ve looked really bad in doing so. Vanderbilt crushed Hawaii 63-10 in the Week 0 opener, and Western Kentucky rolled to a 49-17 win in the islands last weekend.

Michigan made rather quick work of Colorado State by a 51-7 count, covering a 31-point number. The Wolverines amassed 234 yards on the ground and went for 206 yards through the air in the easy victory.

Michigan is No. 5 in the AFCA Coaches Poll powered by USA TODAY Sports.

Hawaii at Michigan picks and predictions

Prediction

Michigan 66, Hawaii 7

Money line

There was no money line at the time of published, but it wouldn’t be worth pursuing anyway.

Against the spread

MICHIGAN -52.5 (-110) laying this kind of number is crazy, and it’s even more ludicrous to suggest taking a team to win by more than 7 touchdowns. However, that’s how bad Hawaii has been this season.

The Rainbow Warriors lost by 53 and by 32 on their home field against unranked teams, so you know the Wolverines are going to be putting it on them. It wouldn’t be surprising to see 70 in this one, quite frankly, before the Wolverines power it down.

Over/Under

OVER 67.5 (-110) is a rather high number only because of Hawaii’s ineptitude. Can the Rainbow Warriors score at all on this trip to the Big House? Colorado State managed just 7 last week, and it’s a heck of a lot more effective than Hawaii.

Michigan will get its points, and likely quite a bit of them early. The Rainbow Warriors have yielded 112 total points through the first 2 games against Vandy and WKU, so the Wolverines will find the end zone frequently. In fact, it wouldn’t be surprising to see Michigan take care of the Over, or come close to do doing so, all on its own.

Vanderbilt at Hawaii odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s Vanderbilt Commodores at Hawaii Rainbow Warriors odds and lines, with college football expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Vanderbilt Commodores kick off the season Saturday against the Hawaii Rainbow Warriors at Clarence T.C. Ching Athletics Complex in Honolulu. Kickoff is scheduled for 10:30 p.m. ET (CBSSN). Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook‘s lines around the Vanderbilt vs. Hawaii odds, and make our expert college football picks, predictions and bets.

The Commodores weren’t very good last season, piling up 10 losses, including the season opener at home to FCS East Tennessee State. But coach Clark Lea knows defense, and the offense has some adequate pieces to at least be competitive in the non-conference portion of the schedule.

The Rainbow Warriors were hit by mass losses and off-field turmoil in the final days of the Todd Graham era. He is now gone, replaced by former popular QB Timmy Chang, and hope springs eternal in the islands once again. But it’s difficult to rise from the ashes back to prominence in short order.

This will be the 1st-ever meeting on the gridiron between these two schools.

Vanderbilt at Hawaii picks and predictions

Prediction

Hawaii 28, Vanderbilt 26

Money line

HAWAII (+250) lost QB Chevan Corderio to conference rival San Jose State via the transfer portal, and it has to replace its top 2 receivers, too. The offense might take some time to jell. However, the Rainbow Warriors represent a strong value on their home field.

Vanderbilt (-320) was favored twice last season, going 1-1 SU. It hasn’t been favored on the road since Oct. 27, 2018, a win at Arkansas, but the Commodores were much better back then.

Against the spread

HAWAII +7.5 (-108) catching 7 and the hook is very attractive. Vanderbilt -7.5 (-112) has failed to cover its last 4 games as a favorite against FBS opponents. And Hawaii is 6-1 ATS in its last 7 games in the month of August, so there’s that.

Over/Under

The OVER 53.5 (-115) is worth playing lightly, although you likely can expect a slow start from both of these teams before the offense picks up the pace in the second half.

We could be in line for a wild finish in the final game of Week 0. But this isn’t the June Jones run-and-shoot offense and the halcyon days of Hawaii football. Colt Brennan isn’t walking through that door. Timmy Chang isn’t walk…well, he is, but as head coach.

Colorado State at Hawaii odds, picks and prediction

Analyzing Saturday’s Colorado State Rams at Hawaii Rainbow Warriors odds and lines, with college football expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Colorado State Rams (3-7, 2-4 Mountain West) visit the Hawaii Rainbow Warriors (4-7, 1-5) Saturday at Clarence T.C. Ching Athletics Complex in Honolulu. Kickoff is scheduled for 11 p.m. ET. Below, we look at the Colorado State vs. Hawaii odds and lines, and make our expert college football picks, predictions and bets.

The Rams lost its fourth straight game last week, falling 35-21 against Air Force at home. Colorado State is also 0-4 ATS during the freefall.

The Rainbow Warriors lost their third straight game on the mainland last week, falling 27-13 at UNLV. Hawaii is now a dismal 0-4-1 ATS across the past five games overall, so something’s gotta give here.

Colorado State at Hawaii odds, lines, picks and predictions

Prediction

Colorado 23, Hawaii 19

Money line

COLORADO STATE (-140) is worth a look in this conference battle in the islands. The Rams have dropped four straight overall, but facing Hawaii (+115) might be the best thing to stop their freefall.

Against the spread

COLORADO STATE -2.5 (-115) should get right at Hawaii +2.5 (-107), and it helps that the Rainbow Warriors won’t have any fans making it difficult for the Rams. Colorado State is 4-1 ATS in the past five meetings in this series, with the favorite also cashing in four of the past five.

Over/Under

The UNDER 53.5 (-108) is the lean here, but know you’ll be bucking a trend. The Over has hit in each of the past five meetings.

However, those Overs happened when both of these teams were much better. The offenses have really struggled lately, with the Rams averaging just 19.0 points per game in the previous three, and the Warriors going for 23 combined points in the past two games.

San Diego State at Hawaii odds, picks and prediction

Analyzing Saturday’s San Diego State Aztecs at Hawaii Rainbow Warriors odds and lines, with college football expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The San Diego State Aztecs (7-1, 3-1 Mountain West) and Hawaii Rainbow Warriors (4-5, 1-3) meet Saturday at the Clarence T.C. Ching Athletics Complex in Honolulu. Kickoff is scheduled for 11 p.m. ET. Below, we look at the San Diego State vs. Hawaii odds and lines, and make our expert college football picks, predictions and bets.

Rankings according to the AFCA Coaches Poll powered by USA TODAY Sports.

The Aztecs suffered a 30-20 loss at home against Fresno State, the first setback of the season for San Diego State. After opening the season 4-1 ATS, the Aztecs are just 1-2 ATS across the past three outings.

The Rainbow Warriors were thumped 51-31 at Utah State in its fifth trip to the mainland this season, and Hawaii is now just 1-2 SU/0-3 ATS across the past three outings overall. The Warriors have allowed 34 or more points in each of the past three games.

San Diego State at Hawaii odds, lines, picks and predictions

Prediction

San Diego State 31, Hawaii 20

Money line

San Diego State (-300) is looking for the bounce back, and it should be able to get the win in the islands against a mediocre Hawaii (+230) side. But risking three times your return is just a little too expensive.

AVOID.

Against the spread

SAN DIEGO STATE -7.5 (-102) is a good play, even though a seven-and-a-hook bet on the favorite is not my favorite wager. However, the Aztecs have bounced back nicely following losses and non-covers, so they’re the play here. San Diego State is 6-1 ATS in the past seven following a non-cover, and 5-1 ATS in the past six following a straight-up loss.

Hawaii +7.5 (-122), on the other hand, is just 14-31-1 ATS in the previous 46 home games, and 11-23 ATS in the previous 34 against teams with a winning overall mark.

Over/Under

OVER 45.5 (-107) is the play in this one. The Aztecs have had a power outage lately, averaging just 19.7 PPG across the past three outings, but they have posted 29.6 PPG to rank 61st in the nation. Defensively, San Diego State has been strong, so don’t expect end-to-end action. But this one should inch over the finish line late.
