Halsey was stuck in an Applebees watching the Lakers lose to the Kings in triple OT and it was so sad

Poor Halsey. Poor, poor Lakers’ fans.

Halsey is every Lakers fan right now. This season has been an absolute nightmare for them.

They came in with the high expectations of winning a championship, as basically any team with LeBron James does at the beginning of the season. But as things have slowly played out so far, they’re looking less and less like a contender by the day.

But on Friday night? They hit the lowest of their lows. They blew a 13-point lead to the Sacramento Kings in the 4th quarter. The Kings sent the game into overtime. Then they sent it into another overtime. Then they sent it into ANOTHER overtime, before eventually winning.

And poor, poor Halsey. She was forced to watch all of this from a seating booth in an Applebees. Applebees, y’all.

She called it purgatory. And it must’ve been. She wanted to leave so badly — Applebees is a fine establishment, but you probably shouldn’t spend more than an hour or two in there. It does something to your soul.

And here she was, watching a three (!!!) hour basketball game where the Lakers — her favorite team — just dropped stink bomb after stink bomb.

She was miserable. Clearly.

How’d she get here? Her power was out. She had to watch the game somewhere.

And now, we know what her villain origin story is going to be. The Lakers broke her.

NBA fans felt so bad for her.

Lakers superfan Halsey’s NBA Twitter account is the breakout star of the playoffs

@Halseyandone is a great follow.

Singer Halsey was just looking for a way to join in NBA Twitter as her Los Angeles Lakers made their run to the Western Conference Finals.

So @halsey started up @halseyandone, claiming she “just (wanted) a place to tweet about basketball.”

And as many people have pointed out, since she started up the account on Sept. 8, the Lakers haven’t lost. So maybe she’s a good luck charm for the Lake Show as they face the Denver Nuggets later this week.

Beyond that, it’s a fun follow — she’s good with the memes, and she even got to attend a game virtually like other NBA fans have while the playoffs are in the bubble:

She dunks on people who call her a bandwagon fan:

And her commentary is funny:

This is the best and I can’t wait to see more as the postseason continues.
