Lions announce Detroit-based halftime act for Week 18 vs Vikings

The Lions announce Detroit native Quinn XCII as the halftime act for Week 18 vs Vikings in Ford Field

After a well-received Thanksgiving halftime show from country artist Shaboozey, the Detroit Lions are turning back to the home front for the entertainment in Week 18.

The Lions announced that Detroit-based pop artist Quinn XCII will perform at halftime of next Sunday’s finale in Ford Field. A native of Grosse Pointe, Quinn blends several genres into a pop-tinged mix with a lot of hip-hop, reggae and synthpop influences. He started making music as a student at Michigan State in nearby East Lansing.

He has a new album out and this prominent appearance will certainly help launch the latest record.

The artist is a lifelong Lions fan, which should bring some extra energy to what has been a hit-and-miss roster of recent halftime shows in Ford Field.

After being treated to a dominant first half by the Detroit Lions, the crowd at Ford Field was treated to a halftime performance by rising country music star Shaboozey.

The Grammy-nominated singer opened his two-song set with “Last of My Kind”, a song that also features Paul Cauthen and is one of his hits from his album Where I’ve Been, Isn’t Where I’m Going.

After that performance, the cheerleaders and fans came out onto the field and the party started. Shaboozey sang his major hit song “A Bar Song (Tipsy)”. The song tied the record with 19 weeks spent at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and is among the nominees for Song of the Year at the Grammys.

Overall, the performance was very well-received and made for a great choice as the halftime show.
